The course takes place Sept. 4 and Sept. 11, from 8:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m., at Ivy Tech’s Kokomo campus. The cost is $317, and lunch is included both days.
You’ll learn FAA regulations, airspace & flight planning, weather fundamentals, drone systems and performance, risk management and safety, and test-taking strategies to help you succeed.

Join CrisisReady Howard County as it covers practical, easy-to-implement steps that will equip participants with the knowledge to make their household more resilient to disasters and emergencies, both big and small.
At this interactive event, participants will learn:
- Home Fire Prevention and Response by the Kokomo Fire Department
- Learn simple but effective tips to prevent home fires
- Create a fire escape plan for the home
- Tour the KFD Smokehouse
- Winter Weather Preparedness by the Howard County Health Department
- Learn how to recognize the signs of frostbite and hypothermia
- Learn how to treat frostbite and hypothermia
- Tips for preparing home and vehicle for the cold weather
Past attendees said the event makes preparedness feel simple and doable, providing the motivation to turn “I should do this someday” into “I will do this now.”
