Lilly Endowment is tripling donations through Community Foundation
One of the best parts of my role is getting to watch generosity multiply, and we’re constantly seeing that happen in real time at the Foundation.
This month, I want to share something that has us especially excited: our current matching opportunity. Thanks to Lilly Endowment’s continued belief in Indiana communities, every dollar given to any unrestricted community endowment fund right now is being matched by two dollars. For example, a $100 donation turns into $300! And it’s turning individual generosity into something even bigger.
We wanted to make it easier for you to be part of that story, so we’ve launched new pages on our website where you can watch our progress in each county grow in real time. Below, you’ll find a button for each county’s Match page, where you can track progress toward that county’s goal and explore an interactive map of unrestricted grants at work in your community. The map shows cumulative unrestricted dollars given to individual nonprofits, pinned right where they’re making an impact, along with when we started supporting them.
For our professional advisor friends, this is a wonderful moment to discuss giving with clients who are already thinking ahead to year-end plans. Right now, a gift to unrestricted funds goes further than it would on its own, and it can be a beautiful way to help someone’s philanthropic hopes take root and grow.
