Baseball is returning to Kokomo, and fans now have the chance to help name the city’s new Prospect League team. Fans can cast their votes only by using the provided QR code for one of four potential team names.

The four options put forth by the city are:

Tropics

Torque

Steel

Creek Chubs

Be aware: voters are required to provide a unique email address, and voting will remain open until Thursday, Oct. 9, at noon.

The team will play in the Prospect League, a summer collegiate wood-bat league featuring college players from across the country. Kokomo previously fielded a Prospect League team from 2015 to 2019, and the league’s return marks a new chapter for local baseball.

The new franchise is owned by Bullpen Ventures, which will oversee the team’s operations and game-day experience at Kokomo Municipal Stadium.

Mayor Tyler Moore expressed his excitement about the return of baseball to Kokomo.

“The City of Kokomo is thrilled to welcome Bullpen Ventures and the Prospect League back to Kokomo Municipal Stadium,” said Moore. “Baseball has always had a special place in our community, and we can’t wait to see fans filling the stands once again.”

Fans are encouraged to make their voices heard and be part of history by helping choose the name that will represent Kokomo baseball for years to come.
