On Thursday, April 16, Bridges Outreach celebrated a meaningful milestone with the grand opening and ribbon cutting of their new putt-putt space, Kokomo Little Links. The event marked not just the launch of a new recreational attraction, but the fulfillment of a vision rooted in something simple and deeply personal.
Years ago, Travis Taflinger, CEO and Executive Director of Bridges Outreach, experienced a moment with his son that would eventually spark this idea. His son innocently suggested, “Dad, let’s go putt-putt.” Travis agreed but quickly realized there wasn’t a local place to make that moment happen. That small interaction planted a seed; one that would take years to grow but would ultimately come to life in the form of Kokomo Little Links.
Bridges Outreach has spent more than two decades impacting the lives of thousands of students in the Kokomo school system, consistently sharing the love of Jesus through mentorship, programming, and community engagement. The addition of Kokomo Little Links is a natural extension of that mission, creating a space where families can gather, connect, and experience joy together.
As the ribbon-cutting ceremony began, the atmosphere reflected the depth of Bridges Outreach’s influence. Representatives from local businesses, nonprofits, and community leaders showed up in strong support. Their presence spoke volumes, not only about the credibility of the organization, but about the relationships that have been built through years of faithful service.
Similar to the community’s embrace of the local ice-skating rink, Kokomo Little Links provides another opportunity for families to spend intentional time together. It offers more than just entertainment. It creates space for laughter, bonding, and meaningful interaction.
At its core, Kokomo Little Links represents something greater than mini golf. It reflects a heart for people, a commitment to community, and a quiet but powerful foundation rooted in faith. Behind every putt and every smile is a deeper purpose: bringing people together and pointing them toward something lasting.
