Lynn Anderson, Howard County Representative for ABATE (American Bikers Aimed Toward Education) presented a check for $2,000 to Kokomo Urban Outreach Administrator Deanna Ancil on Nov. 1 at Urban Outreach's Huddle meeting.

Every year, ABATE picks a charity that applies for it to donate to from a fund called the "ABC Charity Fund." This year Anderson asked Ancil to apply, and ABATE approved the donation.

"I have been volunteering here (Kokomo Urban Outreach) for close a year now," said Anderson. "I like to introduce young people to motorcycling, because that's what we do. But you young people have flipped it around for me. Now I tell everybody about you."

Kokomo Urban Outreach Executive Director Sherry Rahl applauded the donation, "That's amazing, thank you from the bottom of my heart."

ABATE's website states that the ABC fund is "dedicated to helping qualified not-for-profits finance worthwhile community programs – The ABC fund is there to help with projects that benefit Hoosiers."
