Kokomo Musicale is offering its annual Bernice Haynes Hillis Music Award. This award of $1,000 shall be given to a graduating senior whose legal residence is in Howard County. The award is based on the applicant’s scholarship, musical talent, musical activities in school and in the community, and future musical plans.

The applicant must be a high school senior graduating in 2025 whose legal residence is in Howard County. A high school transcript or equivalent must be submitted. Three letters of recommendation should be sent to the address below. Applicants may wish to provide stamped envelopes to those who will be writing their recommendations.

Applicants must submit a good quality recording (free of edits in an accessible format or video link) of solo literature with their application. The performance must be of a degree of difficulty of the ISSMA Group I required list. It may be with or without accompaniment and should be three to seven minutes in length.
