The Spring Fling and Hot Rod Machines show took over the lot at Button Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram on May 10, as a bevy of classic cars and souped-up trucks were placed on display.

Awards were given out to the top 25 entrants in the show, and all proceeds from the event were donated to the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 28. But it was the Magilla Award that captured the most eyes.

The Magilla Award is a memorial the Spring Fling organizers established to honor Jarrod Jones, a founding member who was tragically killed in an automobile accident in 2023. The winner of the award is selected by Jones' mother and three sons.

This year's winner of the Magilla Award was Gary Reed with his 1964 red Pontiac GTO.

The Top 25 winners (in no particular order) were:

Chris Henry, Mike Faust, Ted Jeffers, Brian Wyant, Angie Beckner, Joy Wyant, Vicki Emery, Lawrence Dulworth, Bill Pavey, Don Locke, Tim Carson, Jim McCarter, Bill Sullivan, John Craycraft, Randy McBee, Tom Schlenger, Jason Vela, Rick Dennis, Mike Valadez, Chris Scherer, Mark Clark, Gale Hendricks, Chris Sanders, Robert Lowe, and Dave White

Additional awards were handed out at the show, including:

Best Paint: Don Locke

Best Original Condition: Paul Biesecker

Sponsors' Choice: Mike Beaver

DAV Choice: Michael Golicko

People's Choice: Don Ennis

Founders' Choice: Richard Thatcher

Best of Show: Bill Grosso

Spring Fling and Hot Rod Machines expressed thanks to all in attendance, as well as sponsors Lisa Pore-Stokes Bear, Button Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram, Motor Wise of Kokomo, Jarrett Appliance, Grand Roofing Inc., Quick Cup, Lake House Fabrication, Shearer Printing and Office Solutions, and Grand Appliance and TV, along with food trucks So Tam Good Food Truck, Imagine Burgers, KRA-Z Donuts, Kona Ice of Midwest Indiana, and vendor Jax Wax Lafayette.
