Kokomo Urban Outreach will hold its Empty Bowl fundraiser, presented by Ascension St. Vincent, on Fri., March 20, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. for lunch (soup, bread, and a cookie), or dinner from 6-9 p.m., which will include a full meal, VIP seating options, live music from Dean Schimmelpfennig of Shiny Penny, and more.
The lunch event is still a freewill donation affair, and office parties are welcome to join in the fun. And each person in attendance will be able to select a hand-painted bowl to take home with them. The signature soups for the lunch – four to five options -- have been concocted and will be served by the Kokomo Urban Outreach kids.
The dinner event, however, has been re-imagined. Rather than holding a silent auction for bowls painted by local celebrities, the Empty Bowl will feature a full dinner and live entertainment. For a $25 ticket, attendees will be served a full meal, served by the kids in Kokomo Urban Outreach’s UP Program.
The dinner will include hors d’oeuvres, a main course, dessert, and lemonade, tea, or water. An open bar also will be available. VIP tickets are also available for $50 each, providing special seating and gifts, Coca-Cola, and free champagne. During the evening event, Schimmelpfennig will perform.
The event takes place at Rhine Hall, 507 N. Union St. All proceeds support the UP Program at Kokomo Urban Outreach. To purchase tickets, call 765-457-1983.
