Come and meet “An Indiana School Marm” at the Greentown Historical Society on Sat., Aug. 15, beginning at 2 p.m. in the History Center, 103 E. Main Street, Greentown.

Sharon Dillman will present “An Indiana School Marm.” The story takes place in 1846 in a one-room schoolhouse in Indiana. Sharon will talk about the challenges of being a teacher and dealing with a township school run by the trustees, parents, and perhaps an “unruly” student or two. Children and adults will enjoy the first-person presentation, followed by a short session of a day at school with audience participation.

Sharon taught for 42 years in the Peru Community School system. She researches and writes her own scripts, designs and sews her own costumes. She has a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Education. Please direct any questions to office@greentownhistoricalsociety.org.
