If you ever thought you didn’t matter, “You Will Be Found” as Kokomo Civic Theatre opens it 2026-27 season with the hit Broadway musical, “Dear Evan Hansen,” on August 14, 15, and 16 at Havens Auditorium, IU Kokomo. Performances are 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 2:00 p.m. on Sunday.
Featuring a Tony Award-winning book by Steven Levenson, and a score by Grammy®, Tony®, Emmy® and Academy Award® winners Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, “Dear Evan Hansen” is a new classic, with a message that has resonated with audiences around the world: “You Will Be Found.”
Seventeen-year-old Evan Hansen has felt invisible his entire life. But when a tragedy shocks his community and thrusts him into the center of a rapidly evolving controversy, Evan is given the opportunity of a lifetime: the chance to be somebody else. As his web of well-intentioned lies begins to unravel, though, Evan is forced to confront the fact that the price of belonging may be far steeper than he bargained for!
Please Note: “Dear Evan Hansen” contains adult language and explores key themes of suicide, depression, anxiety, and drug use.
The cast is led by Josiah Pyke as Evan Hansen. Wendy Neher is portraying Evan’s mother, Heidi Hansen. Tristen Durham is playing Connor Murphy. His sister, Zoe Murphy, is being played by Lyn Ruddell. Their parents, Larry and Cynthia Murphy, are being played by Ryan Richards and Emily Perkins. School friends Jared Kleinman and Alana Beck are being portrayed by Amos Greene and Nora Marden. Ensemble members are Alexander Davis, Rachel Flager, Hannah Henderson, Joe Pyke, Savannah Scott, and Julianna Terzaghi.
“Dear Evan Hansen” is being directed by Steve Hughes. Cherresa Lawson is the music director. The production is made possible, in part, by the Wyman Group, the Howard County Commissioners, the Community Foundation of Howard County, the Allen Whitehill Clowes Charitable Foundation, The Arts Federation, and the Indiana Arts Commission, which receives support from the state of Indiana.
Ticket prices are $23 for adults, $20 for senior citizens, $18 for students (through college), and $15 for children 12 and under. Tickets may be purchased online at kokomocivictheatre.org/tickets, by calling 765-454-8800, or in person at the Havens box office one hour before each performance and 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, August 12 and 13.
