Josiah White’s Foster Care will host a Color Walk event in Kokomo on Sat., Aug. 29. This one-mile community walk and celebration aims to raise awareness for children in foster care, the families who open their homes to them, and the ongoing need for more foster parents in the Kokomo area.

More than 170 participants already have registered to walk while being showered in colorful powder along the route. I Walk with Fosters Color Walk is a free, family-friendly event that will feature food from Chick-Fil-A, Kona Ice, games, face painting, balloon animals, community partners, and more.

The event will take place in Jackson Morrow Park, 4200 S. Park Road, from 9:30 a.m. until noon.

Indiana continues to see a shortage of licensed foster families, leaving many local children without a safe, stable place to stay when they need one most. This event brings the community together to raise awareness about the realities of foster care, celebrate current foster families, and inspire new families to consider becoming licensed foster parents.
