A Season of Learning and Planning Your Legacy

As summer winds down and families prepare for a new school year, I wanted to take the time to talk about the importance of learning, planning and preparing for the future. At the Community Foundation, we believe education is an important part of helping donors and professional advisors make informed, confident decisions about charitable giving.

That’s why we’re excited to bring our donor and professional advisor newsletters together into one publication. By combining these resources, we’re creating a shared space to learn, explore ideas, and stay informed about charitable planning opportunities that benefit our community. Whether you’re considering your own legacy or helping others achieve their philanthropic goals, we hope you’ll find valuable insights and practical resources in every issue.

August is also Make-A-Will Month, making this issue of the newsletter especially relevant to all our friends and partners in planned giving. A will is more than a document that determines where your assets go; it can be an opportunity to provide for the people and causes you care about for generations to come. For professional advisors, it can also be an important starting point for conversations with clients about values, charitable intentions and the legacy they hope to leave.

Whether you are considering your own legacy or helping a client achieve their philanthropic goals, we hope this newsletter provides practical information, thoughtful ideas and useful resources to support you along the way.

Thank you for being part of our community and for joining us in this work.
