The Mt. Pisgah Lions returned to the gridiron last week for their second season of football competition. Growing from a flag football squad in 2022 to a 7U and a 9U tackle team, complete with cheerleaders, the program is meeting with success.
The football program was developed by the Men of the Mount group at Mt. Pisgah as a way to mentor children, providing strong role models and sharing the love of Jesus Christ.
The Lions are a part of a national football program called “D1 Nation.” In Indiana, this 12-team league travels the state, competing against one another. Some of the locations involved in the league include Evansville, Indianapolis, and Muncie.
See these photos and many more of the 7U and 9U teams in action, as well as a gallery of photos of the cheer squad, at www.kokomolantern.com or on the Lantern’s Facebook page or group.
