Kokomo High School's Indoor Winds Scholastic A indoor marching group has once again captured the Indiana Percussion Association's (APA) first place awards for their category at Avon High School on March 23 in Avon, Ind., with a score of 85.5.

The group's performance of "The Sounds of Silence" featured music from Beethoven and Simon and Garfunkel recounting the triumphs and tragedies that befell the composer who lost his hearing at the peak of his creative powers.

This is the fourth time that KHS Indoor Winds Scholastic A has been in the top three at the APA final and comes after a season that saw the KHS musicians place first in all regular and preliminary performances. The last two seasons are back-to-back wins for the group.
