Family Service Association (FSA) has received $27,500 in funds from Community First Bank of Indiana and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis for Jackson Street Commons, permanent supportive housing for formerly homeless Veterans. The grant comes courtesy of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis’ Community Multiplier – Member Match program.

“Family Service Association is extremely appreciative of this grant award to support our mission at Jackson Street Commons,” said Angie Ciski, FSA Executive Director. “For over a decade, we have provided stable housing and supportive services to Veterans in our community overcoming homelessness. We appreciate the collaboration from our community to support our work.”

The $25,000 FHLBank grant, plus Community First Bank’s $2,500 matching donation, will support FSA’s work through the Jackson Street Commons programs to provide stable housing and supportive services to Veterans who have been homeless and struggled with barriers to maintaining housing.

“Affordable and stable housing is a top priority for our community, as highlighted by our conversations with the local Community Foundation,” shared Lainey Schroer, Vice President, Director of Marketing at Community First Bank of Indiana. “FSA's housing supportive services at Jackson Street Commons, including mental health counseling, financial counseling, and employment training for Veterans, made them an ideal partner for this grant. We are thrilled to support their efforts with these funds and bolster their invaluable work.”

The Community Multiplier – Member Match program is FHLBank Indianapolis’ newest program offering, designed to support targeted affordable housing initiatives that fall outside of FHLBank Indianapolis’ other grant programs. Community Multiplier offers grants between $25,000 and $125,000 for non-profit organizations headquartered in Indiana or Michigan who partner with an FHLBank Indianapolis member financial institution on targeted affordable housing initiatives.

With a 10-percent matching funds commitment from the member financial institution, FHLBank Indianapolis is providing grants between $25,000 and $125,000. The program opened March 27, 2025, with a $5 million allocation and is available until October 1, 2025, or until funds are exhausted.
