Center Township Trustee hosts service providers giving out food, phones to public
Center Township of Howard County invites the public to its upcoming Community Expo on Thursday, June 12, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the township campus, located at 213 E. Jefferson St., Kokomo, IN.
This family-friendly event is aimed to raise awareness of the wide range of services offered by the township and partnering organizations. More than 35 agencies will be on-site, providing information and resources on housing, food assistance, mental health, substance abuse/addiction recovery, health and wellness, education, and much more.
Attendees who qualify may also receive free phones or tablets, while supplies last. A walk-up food distribution starting at noon, available while supplies last, and guests can also enjoy a free lunch during the event.
In addition to valuable information and services, the Expo will feature a petting zoo, family-friendly games, and tours of a fire truck and police vehicle, offering fun for all ages. The Community Expo is free and open to the public, providing an excellent opportunity for residents to connect with local organizations, enjoy interactive activities, and explore the many resources available in the community.
Whether you're seeking support or simply looking to connect and learn more, or enjoying the day, the Expo has something for everyone. The event is sponsored by Duke Energy, which will have representatives on-site to offer information on electric bill management programs, energy assistance funds, and energy efficiency initiatives.
