Auditions for Kokomo Civic Theatre's October production of Little Shop of Horrors will be held on Sunday and Monday, August 17-18, at 6:30 p.m. at the KCT Warehouse, 722 N. McCann St.
People auditioning will be asked to read from the script. KCT would prefer to hear a song from the show at auditions but will listen if you have another song prepared. A script is on reserve at the downtown branch of the Kokomo Howard County Public Library if you would like to review it in advance.
Available roles include:
- Seymour Krelborn – An insecure, put-upon florist’s clerk and eventual hero. He is a genuine, well-meaning man who is taken for granted because of his clumsy ways and poor social skills.
- Audrey – Bleached-blond, Billie-Dawn-like, secret love of Seymour’s life. She has poor self-worth and education, but incredibly good looks and a sweet and vulnerable demeanor.
- Mr. Mushnik – The seasoned owner of the failing East Side flower shop and Seymour’s nosy boss. He is profit-driven, greedy, and manipulative.
- Orin Scrivello – An egotistical dentist with a passion for leather and sadistic tendencies. Audrey’s abusive boyfriend, who is targeted by Seymour.
- Crystal, Ronnette and Chiffon – Three female street urchins, acting as the occasional Greek Chorus. Young, hip, and smart, these girls are the only ones who have a grip on reality.
- Voice Of The Plant – Offstage voice of Audrey II
- The Plant (Audrey II) – Puppeteer who operates Audrey II
- Others – 4 to 6 male and female chorus who serve as customers
