The Western Lady Panthers are off to a solid start in the 2025 girls' soccer season. They opened play at home on Aug. 16 against rival Kokomo, and sent the Lady Wildkats limping home after a 6-2 drubbing.

The Lady Panthers began the onslaught early and continued the offensive pressure throughout the first half. It proved to be too much for Kokomo, as Western found the back of the net five times in the first half.

The early success had Western aiming to repeat its dominance in the second half, but the Lady Kats rose to the challenge.

Kokomo's defense held, allowing just one goal by the Lady Panthers. And the Kats matched it with a goal of their own to salvage an otherwise lopsided affair.

Western went on to score wins against Lafayette Jefferson and Logansport, while dropping a match to Harrison. With a 3-1 record, the Lady Panthers next travel to Twin Lakes (2-1) on Aug. 25.

Kokomo, however, stumbled again at its home opener against Oak Hill. They take an 0-2 record to Marion (NR) on Aug. 26.
