When temperatures are near 90 degrees, like they are in Kokomo currently, relief from the heat is welcome, and sometimes crucial to health and well-being.

That’s why earlier this summer Duke Energy and the Kokomo Rescue Mission collaborated to distribute 100 box fans to Howard County residents. During this fan distribution, Northview Church also provided bags of food to those who came by for a fan.

The distribution event started at 10 a.m. at the mission and all of the fans were gone by 12:30 p.m. The Duke Energy Foundation provided $2,500 toward the purchase of the fans.
