Tumbling Classes
The Carver Community Center, 1030 N. Purdum St., is hosting tumbling classes. These hour-long classes will take place on Mondays and Thursdays at 5, 6, and 7 p.m. and on Sundays at 1 and 2 p.m. Parents are welcome to stay to observe. Hand Up Pantry
The Center Township Trustee’s Office has opened its Hand Up Food Pantry at the township office, 213 E. Jefferson St. The pantry is open every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9-11 a.m. and 1:30-3:30 p.m. The goal is to serve those experiencing food insecurity. Participants must make an appointment by calling 765-452-8259. A photo ID or proof of address is required.
Fall Break Camp
Carver Community Center, 1030 N. Purdum St., will hold a Fall Break Camp, Oct. 20-24. The camp will run from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. each day, providing a safe and welcoming space, filled with fun activities, games, and plenty of playtime with friends. Campers will need to bring their own lunch, though snacks will be provided. The camp is open to students in kindergarten through 5th grade, and the cost is $75 per student. New Baby Bunch
Do you have a new bundle of joy? Or do you feel like you’re in the trenches of parenting? Join the New Baby Bunch for friendship, support, and to share your parenting journey with other caregivers. The group meets each Monday from 9:30-11 a.m. at the Kokomo Howard County Public Library’s south branch, 1755 E. Center Road. The next meeting is Mon., Oct. 20. Meditation Mondays

NEW: Kokomo Common Council
The Kokomo Common Council will convene on Mon., Oct. 20, at City Hall, 100 S. Union St. The council will hold a public informational meeting at 5 p.m. with a public hearing following at 6 p.m. to consider an ordinance adding a local income tax of 0.4 percent for public safety purposes as well as a public hearing on an ordinance to vacate a street and alley in the city. The council also will vote on the 2026 city budget, including the salaries and benefits of city employees and elected officials.

The Howard County Food as Medicine team meets every Tuesday through Oct. 28. The Greentown Public Library will host the annual Trail of Scarecrows along the Comet Trail in Greentown, through Oct. 31. Individuals, families, clubs, organizations, and businesses are encouraged to design and create a scarecrow for display. The public will vote for their favorite scarecrows, and cash prizes will be awarded to the top three scarecrows.
