On October 31, 2025, at approximately 5:50 p.m., the Howard County Coroner was dispatched to the Howard County Jail regarding a death investigation. The decedent has been positively identified as Phillip DeAngelo White, a 29-year-old male, of Kokomo, Indiana. His family has been notified.
An autopsy was performed on November 3, 2025, by a forensic pathologist at the Howard County Coroner’s Office. The preliminary cause of death is consistent with asphyxia due to hanging. The manner of death is suicide.

On October 31, 2025, troopers from the Indiana State Police Peru District conducted targeted patrols focused on identifying and apprehending dangerous and impaired drivers across the district.
These enforcement efforts were aimed at keeping roadways safe for everyone, especially the many families and children out celebrating the night.
Key statistics from the holiday patrols include:
- 22 Traffic Citations
- 39 Warnings
- 9 Criminal Arrests
- 4 Arrests for Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated (OWI)
- 17 Police Services
The Indiana State Police is committed to promoting traffic safety. They will continue to conduct saturation patrols, a crucial part of their strategy to detect and apprehend impaired drivers.
