Cass County community members and representatives of area businesses and organizations cheered, clapped and sang their way through a recent fun-filled evening with Dueling Pianos International and raised nearly $65,000 to support students at Ivy Tech Community College.
The Scholarships for Student Success fundraiser filled Logansport’s Vibrant Event Center with an enthusiastic and generous crowd.
Dr. Ethan Heicher, chancellor for Ivy Tech’s Kokomo Service Area, thanked the Cass County community for its support. The service area includes Cass, Fulton, Howard, Miami, Pulaski and Tipton counties.
“Together we raised an amazing $64,232 – funds that will directly help students at Ivy Tech Community College overcome barriers and unlock opportunities,” Heicher said. “Thank you for believing in our students. Your support shows them that they’re not alone. Their community is behind them, cheering them forward.”
The event featured the return of Dueling Pianos International, a crowd favorite known for its high- energy, all-request rock ’n’ roll show where the audience becomes part of the performance. Along with dinner, a live scholarship auction and plenty of community spirit, the evening showcased how fun and philanthropy can come together to make a lasting difference.
Kelly Karickhoff, vice chancellor for Development and Community Engagement, said sponsors, donors, and guests all contributed to the event’s success, showing the power of community in action.
“Every gift made that night represents a student with one less barrier standing in their way,” Karickhoff added.
Those who missed the event can still support Ivy Tech students by donating at ivytech.edu/givenow or by calling 765-252-5501.
