State trooper vehicle chase ends in crash, arrest at Main and Harrison
On November 19, 2025, one individual was arrested after leading an Indiana State Police Trooper on a pursuit in Howard County.
Shortly after 2:00 a.m., ISP Sergeant Kyle Miller was patrolling near the intersection of Main Street and Markland Avenue in Kokomo, Indiana, when he noticed a 2003 Chevrolet Corvette with its headlights not illuminated. The driver was later identified as 19-year-old Ty Wanne A. Tucker from Kokomo, IN. Sgt. Miller attempted to initiate a traffic stop. However, Mr. Tucker disregarded a red light and fled at high speeds.
The pursuit continued north on Main Street to Harrison Street, where the Corvette left the roadway and struck a brick wall. Tucker was taken into custody without incident, and no injuries were reported as a result of the crash.
Further investigation revealed that Tucker had accessed an unoccupied nearby residence where the Corvette was located. He was subsequently incarcerated at the Howard County Jail.
As a result of the pursuit and subsequent investigation, the preliminary charges against him are as follows:

- Burglary - Level 4 Felony
- Residential Entry - Level 6 Felony
- Theft of a Vehicle - Level 6 Felony
- Resisting Law Enforcement with a Vehicle - Level 6 Felony
- Operating a Vehicle Without a License - Class C Misdemeanor
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
