For the sixth consecutive year, the Community Foundation Serving Howard, Clinton and Carroll Counties has guided a cohort of local nonprofit leaders through its Excellence in Nonprofit Leadership Series. Launched in 2021, the program equips participants with the core competencies of nonprofit management through monthly sessions covering board governance, strategic planning, outcomes measurement, nonprofit marketing, fundraising, and grant writing.
“Howard, Clinton, and Carroll counties are fortunate to have so many nonprofit leaders who bring real passion to their missions and the people they serve,” said Carrie Giannakos, Community Leadership Coordinator at the Foundation. “Completing the Foundation’s Excellence in Nonprofit Leadership Series reflects their commitment to mastering nonprofit management and becoming even stronger stewards of the organizations they lead.”
The 2026 series concluded on Tuesday, June 16, when certificates were awarded to 27 leaders representing nonprofit organizations across all three counties. Graduates earn the Certificate of Excellence in Nonprofit Leadership by completing at least five of the program’s six sessions.
“Investing in the leaders who guide our nonprofit partners is one of the most powerful ways we can strengthen our communities,” said Todd Moser, President of the Community Foundation. “Every graduate leaves this program better prepared to serve, and we hope that impact reaches every corner of Howard, Clinton, and Carroll counties.”
