Summer arrived a couple weeks ago. The hot temperatures quickly followed. That can only mean one thing: the Howard County 4-H Fair is here! It’s that time of year when tens of thousands of visitors flock to Greentown to experience one of the largest events in the state of Indiana.
The Midway is setting up for scream-inducing rides, a rainbow of flashing lights, and games of skill. The cows, pigs, goats, rabbits, and chickens are filing into the show barn. The exhibit hall is packed with arts and crafts. The Pioneer Village has opened its doors, and the Commercial Building is bursting with wares and services.
And it all starts today, July 13, and runs through Sat., July 18.
Following is the calendar of events so that visitors can plan for the features, shows, and attractions offered by the Howard County 4-H Fair. For additional information, visit www.howardcofair.com. The Howard County 4-H Fair is a smoke free zone.
Daily Events
Commercial Building, open Mon.-Fri., 3-10 p.m., and Saturday from 1 p.m. to close
Granpa Cratchet, sponsored by Abundant Life Church, Pioneer Village at 5 p.m., 7 p.m., and 9 p.m. daily
Hog Diggity Dog, north of Commercial Building, Mon.-Fri. at 5:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m., and 8:30 p.m.
Sawmill demonstration, Pioneer Village, daily from 5-6:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. to close
Human Cannonball (location to be determined), Mon.-Thu. at 7:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. and Fri.-Sat. at 5:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m., and 9 p.m.
Model T Ford Assembly (the MidAmerica Model T Club will assemble a Model T Ford in under two minutes), north of the Round Barn, daily at 6 p.m.
Camp Capybara, north of the Commercial Building, times to be determined
Scott’s Magic Show, north of the Commercial Building, Mon.-Sat. at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.
