The Kokomo Rescue Mission Engagement Center is open Monday through Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. It is available to members of the community who are experiencing financial hardship, housing instability, or other life challenges. The Engagement Center officially opened in June.
Resources that are consistently available include:
- Shower facilities
- Laundry services
- Hygiene products (available once per month)
- Groceries (available once per month)
- Adult clothing (available once every 6 months)
- Children’s clothing (available once every 3 months)
- Furniture, bedding, and household essentials (available once every 3 years)
In addition to these ongoing resources, the Rescue Mission is grateful to partner with a variety of community organizations that visit the Engagement Center each week. By bringing these agencies directly into the Engagement Center, KRM is working together to reduce barriers and make it easier for individuals to access the services and support they need in one convenient location where many already access shelter, meals, showers, and other resources on a regular basis.
Starting the week of Aug. 2, KRM welcomes a new community partner, Reclamation Staffing. Reclamation Staffing is a nonprofit organization helping Indiana residents with criminal records and other employment barriers to connect with meaningful job opportunities. They partner with Steel Mart in Elwood, Indiana, as well as other employers, and ongoingly have numerous positions available to hire.
Partners offering services each week include 4C Health, Bowen Health, Meridian Health Services, First Farmers Bank & Trust, and Reclamation Staffing. Through these partners, KRM can provide physical and mental health treatment, financial education, and employment opportunities.
