Judith A. “Judy” Cain

Judith A. “Judy” Cain, 78, of Walton, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Millers Merry Manor in Logansport. She was born July 20, 1945, in Logansport to Leslie and Margaret (Wendling) Hammond. Judy married Earl R. Cain on October 16, 1965, in Logansport. Earl preceded her in death May 1, 2022.

Judy was a graduate of the first graduating class of Lewis Cass High School in 1964. She retired from Delco Electronics in Kokomo with over 30 years’ service. Judy was a lifelong member of Walton Christian Church and member of UAW Local #292 in Kokomo. She loved being outside and enjoyed time with her family. She loved attending sporting events at Lewis Cass with her son and grandson, watching wheel of fortune and jeopardy, hallmark movies and IU Basketball. Her little dog Charlie became her faithful companion after Earl passed away.

Surviving family include her son, Todd R. (Bree) Cain of Logansport and stepson, Brett (Teresa) Cain of Russiaville. She was also survived by her grandson, Garrett (fiancée Carly) Cain. Judy and Earl played a vital part in raising Garrett. Also, a new seven-month-old granddaughter Paisley Cain who made her light up when she came into the room. Judy has two brothers surviving, Jim Hammond of Walton and Randy (Nicki) Hammond of Kokomo. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Earl, sister-in-law, Susie Hammond and grandson Austin Campbell.

Memorial services will be held at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Murray Weaver Funeral Home in Galveston with special friend and Pastor Bill Collins officiating. A time of visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until service time at 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

William "Bill" Henry Name

William "Bill" Henry Name, age 86, of Kokomo, Indiana passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Kokomo to the late Everett Lewis and Rosaline (Kessler) Name on December 4, 1937. Bill married Judy (Scott) Name on November 7, 1970 in Kokomo, and she survives.

Bill worked for Chrysler for 16 years before taking an early retirement to start his own business. Bill was an owner and operator of an asphalt plant and concrete construction. Later, he started another business called Septics R Us in Kokomo. Bill's favorite activity was raising and showing Appaloosa horses. He was the owner of "Kid Color" Appaloosa Superior Halter Champion. Some of his other favorite activities was going to Strawtown Auction and Artie's Tenderloin.

Surviving is his loving wife of 53 years, Judy Name; children, Debbie "Sis" (Dave) Carpenter, William Garth (Lisa) Name, Richard Todd Lasater, Lilah Rose Gilliland, John Edward Lasater, William Jeffrey (Amy) Name, and Jennifer Lynn (Jared) Smith; grandchildren, Joe Stephen Henderson IV, Jacob Gilliland, Ashley Dean Henderson, and Lauren Elizabeth Lasater; and sister, Martha Ann O'Blenis.

Preceding in death is a son, Robert Dean Lasater; his parents; and a brother, Ronnie Name.

The family will have a private celebration of life at a later date.
