Von B. Floyd

Von B. Floyd, age 83, of Kokomo, Indiana passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024. He was born in Kokomo, Indiana on October 7, 1940 to Cecil and Doris (Smith) Floyd. He is survived by his wife, Eva Floyd; children, Keith (Rebecca) Floyd, Billy (Lisa) Floyd, Teresa (John) Gaddis, Greg (Tracy) Floyd, Jerry (Sherry) Floyd; step-daughters, Debbie (Mike) McKay, Karen (Terry) Tribby; grandchildren, Ben Floyd, Jarred Floyd, Kayla McCarroll, Luke Floyd, Shannon Boehler, Elizabeth Jameson, Courtney Huntsman, Tiffany Aeschliman, Ivy Johnson, Brandon Gaddis, Kassandra Koontz and Lindsey Arwood; as well as numerous great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy; mother, Doris; father, Cecil; and sisters, Marlene and Caroline.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at Ellers Main Street location, 725 S. Main St., Kokomo, from 5-7 p.m. A funeral service will be the following morning, also at Main Street, at 10 a.m., followed by a procession to Sunset Memory Garden to lay Von to rest.

Linda Marie (Plott) Hinkle

Linda Marie (Plott) Hinkle, 63, of Russiaville, passed away at 7:15 am Friday, January 26, 2024, at Community Howard Regional Health in Kokomo. She was born in Upper Sandusky, OH, on February 17, 1960, the daughter of the late William Harold Plott Jr. and Viola Kay (Fields) Lehrke. On August 28, 1976, she married Gary Hinkle, of 47 years, and he survives.

Linda was described as a free spirit who loved life and loved to laugh. She was the ultimate caretaker and homemaker, who raised her daughters to be her best friends, cared for her husband and had a huge part in raising her grandchildren. She always put her family first and there were many who claimed her as their “Memaw.” Linda was a fun, feisty, strong woman and defied all odds. She liked being outdoors camping, boating, taking trips to the beach, and laying by the pool with her children. She enjoyed nature, flowers, plants, and gardening. Linda adored animals of all kinds, especially her beloved pets.

In addition to her husband Gary, she is survived by her daughters, Lynn (Matthew) Cooper, Lisa Hinkle; grandchildren, Allen Cooper, Emerson Cooper, Justin Hinkle, Madison Hinkle; siblings, Pamela “Pammy” Wade, Karen (Mike) Otte, Sally (Don) Hess, William “Billy” (Denise) Plott, Daniel “Danny” Plott; several nieces and nephews; and aunts and uncles.

She was preceded in death by her father, William Harold Plott Jr.; mother, Viola Kay Lehrke, and stepfather, Wayne Lehrke.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10 a.m. to Noon Friday, February 2, 2024, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 West Lincoln Road, Kokomo, IN 46902. Memorial service will be held at Noon on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Russiaville Cemetery.

Margaret Ree Smith

Margaret Ree Smith, age 84, of Kokomo, Indiana passed away on Monday, January 22, 2024.

A time of visitation for Margaret will be held Friday, February 2, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Ellers Mortuary & Crematory Center, 3400 S. Webster Street, Kokomo, Indiana 46902, followed by a funeral service followed by burial at 12:00 PM.
