Virginia Lee Ogden

Virginia Lee Ogden, 85, of Tipton, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 24, 2025. She was born on February 21, 1940, to her parents Everett Ogden and Flossie Mae (Maple) Barnes.

Virginia was one of the sweetest people on this planet. Although she never had the pleasure of being a wife or mother, she played a special role in the lives of so many. Her faith was very important to her, and she was very active in church. Virginia was a Sunday School teacher for many years and was able to impact many children for the Lord. Virginia seemed to always be the person who others could depend on. She babysat for all of her family and friends. She loved children and always enjoyed helping others. Virginia will be remembered for her amazing angel collection; ironic, because many thought of Virginia as their angel. The family she leaves behind will forever be grateful for the example she set, and the unconditional love she gave!

Those left to carry on Virginia’s legacy of love are her brother Phillip Ogden as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Melba Borden, Opal Rich, Naomi Hillian, Marie Griffin, Ruth Scheffler, Eloise Ricker, Juanita Patrick, and Willie Ogden.

A funeral service celebrating Virginia’s life will be held on Monday, March 3, 2025, at 12:00 PM at Taylor & Cowan Funeral Home, located at 314 N. Main St. in Tipton, with Pastor Rick Herring officiating. A visitation for family and friends will take place from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Fairview Cemetery in Tipton immediately following the service.

Taylor & Cowan Funeral Home is honored to serve the Ogden family in their time of need.
