Geraldine J. Martin

Geraldine J. Martin, 95, of Walton, Indiana, entered the arms of Jesus listening to the hymn, "When We All Get to Heaven" on April 23, 2025, surrounded by her family. She was born on August 11, 1929, in Kokomo, Indiana, to the late Kenneth McCombs and Alma McCombs (Hale). Geraldine married Max Martin on October 25, 1947, and he precedes her death.

Geraldine attended Kokomo High School. She was a co-owner and co-operator with her husband of Pipe Creek Kennels. Geraldine was a member of the Beagle Club and attended field trials. She loved going to garage sales with her daughter and great-grandson Aidan. She also spent weekends at her own booth at the flea market. Geraldine collected porcelain dolls and Fenton glass. She gave her life to the Lord in 1953. Her favorite song was “I’ll Fly Away.” She made the best chicken and noodles and yeast rolls. Geraldine also attended Living Truth Bible Church. She loved God, family, church family, friends, and her dog Choco. Geraldine was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Surviving are her daughter Jeri Ann (Timothy) Wendling, two sons David (Jacque) Martin and Steven Martin, Dale (Betty) McCombs, sister-in-law Janet Martin, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death are her loving husband Max, daughter Tonia Ellison, and brother Donald McCombs.

A visitation for Geraldine will be held Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Living Truth Bible Church, 3017 East State Road 218, Walton, Indiana 46994. A funeral service will occur Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 12:00 PM, 3017 East State Road 218, Walton, Indiana 46994. A final resting place will occur Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Crown Point Cemetery, Kokomo, Indiana 46901.



Beverly Walden

Beverly Walden, 90, of Kokomo, passed away on April 22, 2025. She was born in Kokomo, Indiana, on July 26, 1934, the daughter of Charles H. & Clair Mae (Nash) Duke.

She graduated from Kokomo High School and married Doyle Gene Walden on May 10, 1952. She worked at Union Bank and Trust for more than 10 years and sold Avon for 10 years. She loved to read, work puzzles, and play cards with her friends. She was a member of Fairfield Christian Church.

Beverly is survived by one son Matthew D. Walden (Kristie), two granddaughters Caressa Walden and Riley Walden, three sisters-in-law Alice and Phyllis Walden and Rose Swann of Florida, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, father, mother, two sisters Jean Stroup and Juanita Moore, a half-sister Martha Borg, and a half-brother William Duke.

Special thanks to her neighbor Pat Gordon, who has been very helpful for many years.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln Rd. with Pastor Keith Cramer officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Memory Garden cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday, at the church. Everett Wayne Collins

Everett Wayne Collins, age 103, of Kokomo, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2025. He was born to Clarence and Lelie Collins (Alexander) in Kokomo, IN, in July 1921.

He had three brothers William Collins (Bill) of Las Vegas, NV, Donald Collins of Kokomo, and Ralph Collins, who all preceded him in death.

Everett served in the U.S. Army during World War II from September 1942 to December 1945. He served at Normandy in Northern France - Ardennes - Rhineland - Central Europe. Following his time in the military, he married Mildred Collins (Reynolds) in 1945, and they were married for 49 years. Together, they had three children David Collins (deceased), Patty Collins of Kokomo, and John Collins of Kokomo. Everett also had four grandchildren Michael Collins of Ohio, Daniel Collins of Tennessee, Brian Collins of Plainfield, and Julie Collins (Conally) of Carmel, and five great-grandchildren.

Everett worked after the service at PPG Industries for 30 years. He then earned his Broker's license and started selling mostly commercial properties full-time.

Everett married Marie Long in 1995. She had two daughters Nancy (Gayle) Richmond and Kathy Laird, both of Kokomo. Everett and Marie enjoyed traveling and went to Las Vegas and Tennessee several times. They were married until 2014 when she passed away.

Everett entered Wellbrooke in 2022 and became the oldest resident there. He entered his stay there at the time of Veteran's Day in 2022. He was received with a lot of fanfare.

Everett loved playing Euchre and finally had time to start playing BINGO, working puzzles, and an occasional game of corn hole. He was a loving husband and a good dad. We often asked what his secret was to living so long. He responded, "The secret is do your best, be honest, work hard, take care of those you love, and be grateful until the Lord takes you home."

The family would like to extend thanks to the staff at Wellbrooke for their kindness and care for Everett and especially attention to his family.

Also special thanks to Guardian Angel, who gave wonderful care and compassion to Everett and his family.



Michael “Mike” L. McQuinn

Michael “Mike” L. McQuinn, 73, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at 1:30 p.m., at Aperion Care in Kokomo. He was born on October 24, 1951, son of the late Lester and Delpha “Alice” (Tolle) McQuinn.

Mike was a 1969 graduate of Clinton Central High School. He worked as a truck driver. Mike enjoyed cooking on the grill. He was considered a talker and loved talking to people.

He is survived by his friend Fondra Acord.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents.
