Frankie Young Sr.
Frankie Young Sr., the man who could fix a bike with one hand while the other was occupied, has taken his final bow on this stage we call life. Born on November 21, 1953, in Lima, Ohio, Frankie's laughter-filled journey came to a peaceful end on May 12, 2025, in Kokomo, Indiana. He was a man who lived by the motto, "If it ain't broke, I haven't touched it yet."
Frankie was the beloved son of Fred and Ruthalee Young, who surely greeted him with open arms and a list of heavenly repairs. He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter with his children Keebra Wilson, Frankie Young Jr. (Rayce), and Tiffany Young, as well as grandchildren Leonte Wilson, Frankie Young III, Kheyarra Johnson, Jaden Young, Adrian Wilson, and Mauri Wilson.
His siblings Bessie McIntyre and Richard Young will fondly remember their brother as the family's unofficial engineer. Special cousins Johnny Young, Carl "Bud" Young, and Fred Young will miss the man who was always ready with a joke and a wrench. Frankie was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings Thomas, Raymond, Geraldine, Norma Jean, Theresa, and Nadine Young, his special niece Lashadra Young, and his brother-in-law George McIntyre. They have now welcomed him to the ultimate family reunion.
Frankie was the neighborhood handyman, a hero in overalls who could turn a wrench and turn up the charm all at once. He worked on anything and everything, from the kids' bikes to the old-school TVs. If you needed help, Frankie was your guy. He was the original DIY king, long before it was cool on the internet.
His interests were simple: family, friends, and a good time. Whether it was a backyard barbecue or a living room dance-off, Frankie was the life of the party. He believed that laughter was the best tool in his belt, and he wielded it with expert precision.
Describing Frankie is easy: handy, funny, generous. He was the man who would give you the shirt off his back, even if it meant he'd have to fix the buttons later. His generosity knew no bounds, and his humor was the glue that held everyone together.
Frankie's life was a masterclass in joy. He taught us all that the best things in life aren't things at all, but the moments we share and the people we love. His legacy is not in the objects he fixed, but in the hearts he mended with his kindness and wit.
As we say goodbye to Frankie Young Sr., we do so with a smile, knowing that he's probably up there negotiating with the pearly gates to install a swinging screen door. He was a man who never met a stranger, only friends he hadn't joked with yet.
So, here's to Frankie, a man who could find the funny in the mundane, the silver lining in every cloud, and the right tool for every job. He may have left this world, but his laughter echoes in our memories, a timeless reminder to enjoy the ride and fix what's broken with a smile. Rest easy, Frankie, and keep the angels chuckling. We'll handle things down here, but don't be surprised if things start falling apart without you.
