William Dennis Barnes
William Dennis Barnes, 72, of Tipton, went to be with the Lord on Thursday morning, May 15, 2025. “Denny,” as he was known to family, and “Bill” to those he worked with, passed peacefully with family by his side.
Denny was born December 19, 1952, to Edgar Lee and Eva Mae (Phillips) Barnes. He grew up and lived his life in Tipton County, graduating in 1972 From Tipton High School, and working at GM for 32 years as a millwright. Denny retired in July 2003 after his youngest daughter graduated high school.
He was a part of the Moose, Elks, and American Legion. Denny found DeDe and had 22 wonderful years with her – enjoying motorcycle rides, exploring little places all over Indiana, and taking trips to Mackinaw Island. Denny loved all things Chevrolet, owning various Corvettes throughout his life, but his favorite is still in the garage waiting for his oldest daughter to take it for the next spin. Denny could fix anything, from the roof to an engine to building a two-story garage. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, going fishing, and watching NASCAR racing.
Losing Denny is beyond measure; he chose to be there and loved with all his heart. He will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
He leaves behind his wife Delinda D. Barnes (Lundy), the love of his life – forever & always. Children: Chad Clouser (Nicole) – Lake Placid, Florida, Amber Clouser – Greenwood, and Kaelyn Warrner (Douglas) – Muncie and his grandchildren: Jorja, Holland, Lora, Michael, William, and James – who all grieve his loss. Also surviving is his brother Lloyd Barnes of Tipton. Both of his parents, a sister, and a brother predeceased him.
No services are planned. Young-Nichols Funeral Home is assisting the Barnes family and messages of condolence for Denny’s family may be left on his obituary page at www.young-nichols.com.
