Joyce Ann Pullen

Joyce Ann Pullen, 85, Walton, went to be with her Lord & Savior at 11:42 p.m. Saturday, May 24, 2025. She was born July 1, 1939, in Logansport, the daughter of the late Earl and Dorothy (Schwalm) Wolford. On March 22, 1958, she married Ronald Pullen, who preceded her in death on October 9, 1989.

Joyce was a 1957 graduate of Onward High School. She retired from Kmart after 10 years of service. Joyce was a member of Center Community of Faith Church, formerly Center E.U.B. Church. She enjoyed cooking and baking and was known by many for her homemade noodles and her angel food cakes.

Joyce is survived by her children Judy Thomas, Kevin (Dawn) Pullen, and Jane (Art) Michael, grandchildren Eric (Lynnsey) Bell, Kyle (Lynsee) Pullen, Derek (Taylor) Pullen, John (fiancé Cherokee Barnes) Thomas, and Matthew Thomas, great-grandchildren Brynnley, Breckyn, Bexley, and Bronson Bell, Kashton, Kodee, Lane, Luke, and Adalyn Pullen, and special friend Dale Forgey.

In addition to her husband Ronald, Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Carolyn Kraay, Mary Lou Cain, and Doyne Wolford, and son-in-law Wesley Thomas.

A funeral service celebrating Joyce’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Center Community of Faith Church, 1475 E. 1125 S. Galveston, with Pastor Brent Cripe officiating. Burial will follow in Center Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 12 p.m. until the start of the service at the church on Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to Center Cemetery in Joyce’s memory. Stout & Son Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements. Misty Corey

Misty Corey, age 54, passed away on Friday, May 23, 2025, at Community Howard Regional Hospital. She was born on January 15, 1971, in Kokomo, to Kerry and Theresa (Hayes) Name.

Misty was a very caring and loving person who loved her children very much. She was a "jokester" and enjoyed teasing her family as that is how she showed her love. Misty was an animal lover and taught Sunday School at her church. She was a member of the Jesus Apostolic Faith Church in Galveston.

She is survived by three sons Jeremiah (Kendall) Corey, Jacob Corey, and Brandon Corey, her parents, siblings Kerry (Elizabeth) Name Jr., Mickey (Victoria) Name, and Crystal (Andre) Miller, two aunts Laveena (Mickey) Name and Leota (Cliff) Duke, her lifelong partner Vernon Corey, and many nieces and nephews.

There will be a visitation for Misty on Thursday, May 29, 2025, from 2:00 PM until the time of service at 4:00 PM, at Jesus Apostolic Faith Church, 408 East Jackson Street, Galveston, Indiana. Sister Vickie Jackson will be officiating. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Misty to Jesus Apostolic Faith Church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Envelopes will be provided at the church.



Judith Ann (Smith) Landrum

Judith Ann (Smith) Landrum, age 80, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2025, in her daughter's home in Kokomo, Indiana. Judy was born July 5, 1944, in Kokomo, IN, to Wayne and Betty Smith. She graduated from Galveston High School. She worked at Delco Electronics from 1968 and retired in 1998 as a member of UAW Local 292. She enjoyed spending time with her husband traveling to Alaska, central Midwestern states, along with day trips. She had a deep fondness for her family, pets, and wild animals. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and making items for her loved ones. She loved cooking for her family.

Judy is survived by her husband of 35 years Theodore (Ted) Landrum, her children & spouse Christopher (Cara) Cripe, Kimberly Cripe Graves, and Melissa Cripe Ungar, five grandchildren Heather (Cisco) Gonzales, Ashley (Tim) Dunn, Danielle (Jon) Hendricks, Ciara Ungar (Casey Crooks), and Carrissa Cripe (Trevan Brown), and eight great-grandchildren. She has four stepchildren — Jeff (Bonnie) Landrum, Kelly (Lloyd) Thompson, James (Paula) Landrum, and Julie (Derron) Hale — 13 step-grandchildren, sisters Janet Prather, Julie Bartrum, Jennifer Hipp, and Jackie Prather, sister-in-law Linda Smith, and several nieces and nephews. Special mention to aunt Cheryl Duncan, cousin Carol Barker, and special dog Ellie Mae.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Gregory Smith. She adored her special dog Ali. Visitation will be May 30, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. with funeral service following from 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at Sunset Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests check donations to the Toys for Tots. Special thanks to Guardian Angel Hospice, Comfort Keepers, Andrea at the Wound Care Center at Community Howard, and special friend Sharon Hochstedler. Her warmth, humor, and compassion will be deeply missed by all who knew her.



Elizabeth “Liz” Ann Gentry

Elizabeth “Liz” Ann Gentry, 67, Kokomo, passed away Monday, May 26, 2025, at her home, surrounded by family. Born August 3, 1957, in Kokomo, she was the daughter of the late Joyce C. (Willis) Land & Richard E. Smith. On January 18, 1975, she married Steven William Gentry who survives.

Liz was a graduate of Northwestern High School, class of 1975. Her professional life was dedicated to the healthcare sector, where she spent 20 years between Ascension St. Joe Hospital and Community Howard Regional Health. At St. Joe Hospital, she worked as a Telemetry Tech and Patient Care Tech, and at Community Howard, she held roles as a secretary and Telemetry Tech. Her colleagues fondly remembered her as "Claire the Crunchy Dinosaur," a testament to her unique and endearing personality. Liz lived a life marked by modesty, privacy, and a quiet intensity that transformed into warmth and vivacity once one got to know her. Described by family and friends as "a little witchy," Liz had a profound connection with nature and history.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Liz was deeply engaged in various hobbies that reflected her eclectic interests. She was an avid gardener, a lover of music, and had a keen interest in history, especially the Civil War, the 1960s, and the Vietnam War. Liz often visited old cemeteries for stone rubbings, hooked rugs and tapestries by hand, enjoyed collecting antiques with her husband, and adored all animals. She was also a founding member of the local artisan group Granny Bees and Bittersweet Cabin, and before that Red Bow, through which she nurtured a community of like-minded individuals. Her dedication to service was evident in her efforts during the Vietnam War, where she made care packages for soldiers.

Along with her husband Steve, Liz is also survived by her children, Erin Lee (Mike) Geiselman, Lori Anne (Dock) Henry, Travis William Gentry, and her grandson Ayden William Gentry, whom she raised as a son, grandchildren Christian (Becca) Robinson, Jonah Geiselman, Elizabeth Joyce Geiselman, Maddy Henry, Corbin Henry, and Alia Henry, siblings Deborah (Rick) McFall and Diana (Jim) Arnold, nieces and nephews Rachel Hiesterman, Adam Hill, Rick McFall Jr., Stephanie Stevens, Katelyn Gentry, Alyssa Washington, Madison Gentry, Courtney Gentry, and Jake Gentry, as well as two great-nieces and several great-nephews.

Liz was preceded in death by her parents, niece and nephews Cheri McFall, Zachary Gentry, and Joshua Gentry, son-in-law Thomas Rose, and her dear friend Beth Notaro.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 2, 2025, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo, with Pastor Joel Larison officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 1–4 p.m. on Sunday, June 1, 2025, and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home. She will be privately interred at Crown Point Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Liz’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, reflecting her lifelong commitment to helping others.



Elmer J. Watson

Elmer J. Watson, 100, of Kokomo, passed away on the morning of Saturday, May 24, 2025, at Wellbrooke of Carmel. Elmer was born on March 5, 1925, in Russiaville as the eighth of 12 children to the late Frank and Addie (Malicoat) Watson. Elmer is survived by his daughter Marcy A. Watson of Zionsville and his brother and sister-in-law Merle Wayne and Shirley Watson of Kokomo, along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia A. Watson (McGuire), his parents, two brothers, eight sisters, and several nieces and nephews.

Elmer graduated from Russiaville High School in 1943 and then was drafted in the U.S. Navy, where he served in World War II before being honorably discharged in May 1946. He then went to work at Stellite, where he met the love of his life Patricia McGuire. They were married on June 21, 1953. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in 2023 before Patricia passed away in October that year. In 1963, they welcomed their only child, Marcy Ann.

Elmer joined Russiaville State Bank in 1948, which later became Central Bank, and worked at the bank for 42 years, serving as Vice President before retiring in 1990. He loved working with his community, and as a loan officer enjoyed helping people realize their dreams. He was a part of the rebuild of Russiaville after the Palm Sunday tornadoes in 1965. He continued to serve on the Central Bank board of directors until it was sold to First Farmers Bank & Trust in 2009.

Elmer was an avid golfer. He and Pat joined Green Acres Golf Club where he played in the men’s league, and they regularly played Friday Night Couples. Elmer and a group of Russiaville buddies took an annual “Fall Classic” golf trip for many years as well as played in a variety of outings around the state. After retiring, Elmer and Pat frequently played in Tipton and later joined Wildcat Creek Golf Club where they played well into their 80s. Elmer finally got a coveted hole-in-one there at the age of 84 which was witnessed by his brother Wayne.

Elmer was a kind and loving husband, father, and friend. He was a member of the Russiaville United Methodist Church as well as 75-year Mason. He was a member of American Legion Post 6 and the Kokomo Elks Club. He served on the School Board for Western School Corporation from 1970-1978, including serving as its President. He also served on the board of directors for Howard Community Hospital Foundation in 1970s and 1980s.

The family would like to thank the staff at Wellbrooke of Carmel for providing Elmer’s care for the last seven months of his life, including throwing him an amazing 100th birthday celebration in March. Also, special thanks to neighbors Jake and Brenda Jackson for all their help and support.

Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Monday, June 2, 2025, at Stout & Son Funeral Home – Russiaville Chapel, 200 E. Main St., Russiaville, IN. The funeral will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Anne Kumeh officiating. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memory Garden, with Military Honors provided by the United States Navy and the Kokomo VFW Military Rites Team. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Elmer’s name to the Russiaville United Methodist Church or the Community Howard Regional Health Foundation.
