Judith A. Stroud
Judith A. Stroud, 78, of Galveston, passed away Sunday, July 27, 2025, at I.U. North Hospital in Carmel. She was born January 7, 1947, in Kokomo to Charles R. and Mariam (Boring) Carver. She married Robert D. Stroud on May 28, 1965, and he preceded her in death March 22, 2008.
Judy was an avid GTO enthusiast. She and her husband Bob had several classic cars over the years, and they were the catalyst that started the Walton Car Show held during the 4th of July celebration for more than 30 years. They were members of several car clubs, including the Pioneer Car Club and the Rebel Rousers in the local area.
Judy was passionate about raising money for Shriner’s Hospitals for Children. She organized many Cruz-ins to help children in need of hospital care.
Surviving family include her two sons Jason (Chastity) Stroud of Galveston and Brian (Janis) Stroud of Kokomo. She is also survived by her grandchildren Bryant Morris, Taylor Morris, Jaden Stroud, Jaxyn Stroud, and Sami Devlin, one great granddaughter Amelia Morris, and brothers Jeff Carver, Mark Carver, and Rick Carver. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband Bob.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 1, 2025, in the Galveston Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her husband. In keeping with her wishes, no public visitation is planned. Pastor Sean Cooper and Pastor Paul Sutherland will officiate. Jerry Lee Evans
Jerry Lee Evans, 86, of Kokomo, passed away on Monday, July 28, 2025, at his home. He was born on October 22, 1938, in Kokomo, the son of Mennis G. Evans and Maxine (Gano) Tedlock. On June 24, 1970, at First Brethren Church in Kokomo, Jerry married Deloris Boruff, and she survives.
Jerry graduated from Western High School in 1956. He retired from the Howard County Sheriff’s Department after 21 years of service in 1993. Jerry and Deloris opened their laser engraving shop in 1980 called Jer-Anny Awards. He enjoyed ballroom dancing, calf roping in the rodeo, and most of all laser engraving. Jerry was a member of the Retired Police & Firefighters Association, Indiana Sheriffs Association, Eagles, and Kokomo Ball Room Dancing Club.
Along with his wife Deloris Evans, Jerry is survived by: his children Julie Mason, Brent (Tammy) Evans, Duane (Cathie) Jones, and Richard (Marcia) Jones; grandchildren Cynthia (Fred) Reed, Ashley (William) Aries, Joshua (Katie) Evans, Garrett Jones, Paige (Josh) Yeggy, Tonya Jones, Casey (Shannon) Jones, Jessica (William) Miller, Dustin Spicer, and Shannon (Donnie) Bay; and many great-grandchildren.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Delilah Ann Evans, and son-in-law Lee Mason.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at Stout & Son Funeral Home, 200 E. Main Street, Russiaville, with Pastor Jeff Russell officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 1, 2025, at the funeral home. Charles Lee “Chuck” Pennington
Charles Lee “Chuck” Pennington, 84, Kokomo, was gathered in to the arms of God at 3:55 am Tuesday, July 29, 2025, from Ascension St. Vincent Hospital, Kokomo. He was born December 26, 1940, in Kokomo, the son of the late Lloyd C. & Frieda M. (Meeks) Pennington. On October 10, 1965, he married Marjorie A. Slabaugh at Main Street Methodist Church in Kokomo.
Chuck was a 1958 graduate of Kokomo High School, where he played percussion in the band. He attended Indiana University Kokomo from 1958 -61 when it was located at the Seiberling Mansion. Chuck served in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1963-93 and was a member of the 4th and 5th All Army Pistol Team for 20 years.
He shared his musical talents with the community as a member of the Kokomo Park Band from 1970-90. Chuck was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church since May 13, 1951, and served on numerous committees. He served as Finance Chairman for more than 20 years. He was currently serving on the Board of Directors of Samaritan Caregivers and their Finance Committee, serving as Treasurer from 2003-08.
Chuck retired from a career in finance at Delco/Delphi in 2001. He had previously worked for First National Bank for 20 years.
Chuck is survived by his wife of 59 years Marjorie “Marge” Pennington, daughters Elizabeth “Liz” (Monty) Sanders and Kathleen Pennington, grandchildren Kaitlyn (Cole) Riley and Kyle (Faith) Sanders, sister Patricia (Robert) Fischvogt, brothers-in-law Danny Miller and Dick (Karen) Slabaugh, sister-in-law Judy Tumbleson, and many special nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, half-brother Ronald Bennett, father- & mother-in-law Truman & Helen Slabaugh, and sisters-in-law Winifred Miller, Evelyn Miller, and Martha Miller.
A funeral service celebrating Chuck’s life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 3, 2025, at Main Street United Methodist Church, 830 S. Main Street, Kokomo, with Pastor Kate Biggs officiating. The service will begin with Military honors provided by the U.S. Army and the Greentown American Legion Post. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 1-3 p.m. Sunday at the church. A committal service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Chuck’s memory to Main Street United Methodist Church or to Samaritan Caregivers. William “Bill” Charles Clark
William “Bill” Charles Clark, 65, of Indianapolis, passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at his home. He was born in Kokomo, IN, on July 22, 1960, the son of the late Franklin Edward and Eleanor Jane (Tumulty) Clark.
Bill was a 1979 graduate of Northwestern High School. He later received a Bachelor’s in Forest Resources, Production, and Management from Purdue University in 1983. He served a career in the lumber industry in Florida, Michigan, Ohio, and Indiana. He retired in 2023 from Timberland Lumber Co. in Indianapolis, where he served as a door and window specialist. Bill was an avid Purdue University fan. One of his favorite traditions was attending the Indianapolis 500 each year. He cherished time he spent with his nieces and nephew, especially when the whole family met up for the holidays. He will be remembered for being a kind-hearted man.
Bill is survived by his brother Joe and his wife Robin (Helms) Clark, sister-in-law Geralyn (Tracy) Clark, nieces Lillian and Evelyn, and nephew Oliver.
He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Eleanor Clark, brother Mark Clark, and aunt Nancy Tumulty.

Anita Lynn Harner
Anita Lynn Harner, age 58, of Tipton, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, surrounded by her family at her son’s home. Born on July 11, 1967, in Tipton to Alfred and Reba (Ragan) Howery, Anita was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother.
Anita graduated from Tipton High School in 1985 and pursued a career as a fork truck driver for several years. However, she chose to dedicate herself to her family, cherishing the time spent with them. On June 14, 2008, she married Charlie Harner, with whom she shared 16 joyful years until his passing on April 5, 2025.
Anita attended Trinity Wesleyan Church and enjoyed watching medical dramas and home improvement shows alongside her husband. She was passionate about visiting yard sales in search of treasures and took great pleasure in sewing for her family. An avid animal lover, Anita had a special bond with her dogs.
She is survived by her children Dustin Givens and his wife Marisa of Noblesville, and Laura Givens of Clarksville, Tennessee, her mother Reba Howery of Tipton, her siblings Greg Howery and his wife Lisa of Tipton, Patti Canton and her husband Chris of Bristol, Indiana, and Jon Howery and his wife Beverly of Noblesville, and her beloved granddaughters Halley and Skyler Crabtree. Anita was preceded in death by her father Alfred Howery.
