Anita Kay Hoover

Anita Kay Hoover passed peacefully on August 25, 2025. She is no longer in her hometown of West Middleton, IN, but is home with the Lord. She was born on August 19, 1954, to Elmer and Bernice (Harmon) Ryan. She graduated from Western High School in 1973. She married Billy Hoover in 1982 and had two daughters Elizabeth and Emily. She was a homemaker who came from a loving family where gatherings and reunions were the hallmark of her joy. Anita was a lifelong member of the West Middleton United Methodist Church. She had a true heart for children, taking care of them in her home and serving as a teacher in the church nursery.

She enjoyed reading, cooking, country music, soap operas, ice cream, sitting in the sunshine, holidays, and visiting with Tennessee family. She was a proud Mamaw to her three grandsons who were her greatest joy. She loved being an Aunt Nita and Nana to countless loved ones. Anita faithfully attended Sunday School and would request prayer and express joy for her family and those she loved weekly, mentioning all by name. She was moved by music and hymns that would bring her closer to Christ. Anita loved to laugh and have friends and family around playing games and enjoying fellowship.

Anita’s legacy is carried on by her beloved husband of 43 years Billy Hoover, two daughters Elizabeth Fulk (Auston) and Emily Hoover, three treasured grandchildren Connor, Owen, and Elijah, brother-in-law Mark Hoover (Michelle), a nephew, nieces, great nieces, a great nephew, and cousins who will forever cherish the memories they shared together.

Anita was preceded in death by her parents and devoted sister Shirley Crites.

Anita left an irreplaceable mark on the lives of those who loved her, and her memory is forever in our hearts.

Funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at Stout & Sons Funeral Home, 200 E Main St., Russiaville, with Pastor Jack Duckworth officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Garden Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Immediately following the burial, a dinner in Anita’s honor will be held at the West Middleton United Methodist Church, Russiaville IN.

James W. Howell

James W. Howell, age 89, of Kokomo, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at Wellbrooke of Kokomo. He was born to the late Ivan and Evelyn Howell on April 24, 1936, in Kokomo, Indiana.

James retired from Chrysler after 30 years of employment as a machine operator. He was a member of the UAW #685. James loved to sing and play the guitar. He also enjoyed fishing and watching football.

James is survived by his wife of over 60 years Phyllis; daughter Rachelle (James) Gibson; grandson Nick (Molly) Jeffries; great-grandson Miles Jeffries; and his sister Janet.

Preceding in death are his parents; brother Denny; two sisters Jerry and Patty; granddaughter Keira; and two great-granddaughters Layla Kay and Georgie Renee.

There will be a graveside service for James on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at 2:30 PM at Albright Cemetery, 3910 Albright Road, Kokomo, Ind.
