Sharon Kay (Shuck) Cardwell
Sharon Kay (Shuck) Cardwell, 81 years old, of Sharpsville, passed away 1:48 p.m. Sunday, September 7, 2025, at Community Howard Regional Health in Kokomo. She was born in Kokomo, IN, on June 13, 1944, the daughter of the late Carl and Freida (Williams) Shuck. On June 13, 1998, she married Bruce Cardwell, and he preceded her in death on June 1, 2021.
Sharon was a 1962 graduate of Sharpsville High School. She retired from General Motors after 31 years of service as a machine operator. She and her husband Bruce formerly owned and operated Cardwell Tax Service in Kokomo. Sharon was known to help anybody who was in need. She managed to visit all 50 states and traveled around the country in a motor home and on international cruises. She absolutely adored her grandchildren and was a huge supporter of them. Her favorite hobbies were painting, crafting, and ballroom dancing. Sharon formerly attended First Baptist Church.
Sharon is survived by her children Melinda (Ervin) Stuckart, Melissa Manaloto, and Mike (Penny) Burnett; siblings Bob Shuck, Don Shuck, and Edith Burnett; 13 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 15 siblings, and granddaughter Anna Stuckart.

James D. Sitzes
James D. Sitzes “Dave”, 55, of Logansport, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, September 8, 2025.
Born on August 7, 1970, in Kokomo, he was the son of James E. and Martha M. (Austin) Sitzes. Dave grew up with a love for music, proudly playing drums at the Carroll High School, where he graduated in 1988, his performance of “Normandy Beach” remained one of his proudest memories. Even as a teenager, Dave carried a strong work ethic working for his dad at Jim Sitzes Construction, LLC, and at McDonald’s in Frankfort during high school.
On July 12, 2008, Dave married the love of his life Kimberly Newton at Faith United Methodist Church in Kokomo. Together they built a life filled with faith, laughter, and love.
Dave later followed his calling into healthcare, graduating from McKinley School of Nursing and becoming a licensed LPN. He gave more than 20 years of compassionate care through his work at Monticello Healthcare, IBP, Arbor Rehab at Memorial Hospital, and Logansport State Hospital in the Isaac Ray unit, before being medically retired in 2015.
Most importantly, Dave was a saved child of God and a devoted, longtime member of Life Gate Church. His faith guided every part of his life. He shared his ministry by praying for others, giving away Bibles, and feeding the hungry. He also brought joy through music, playing conga drums and bongos with the Life Gate Praise and Worship Team.
Dave was most proud of his role as a father and “Papaw.” Time with his daughters and grandchildren filled his life with purpose and joy. He cherished gathering with family, listening to stories from older generations, and creating memories that will be carried forward.
A man of many passions, Dave loved guitars and music of all kinds: Christian, bluegrass, folk, and more. He was happiest traveling to his favorite places like the Smoky Mountains and the beach. He never missed a chance to light fireworks on the Fourth of July, his favorite holiday. He enjoyed flea markets and antiques, history, Revolutionary War reenactments, fishing trips in Minnesota with his dad and Uncle Bill, golfing, and sprint car races. Dave’s curiosity and zest for life made him unforgettable to all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife Kimberly Sitzes; his parents Jim and Martha Sitzes; daughters Carrie (Dakota) Veach of Logansport and Journee M. Green of O’ Fallon, Illinois; grandchildren Allie Hasch of Logansport, and Remington Schoen and AvaGrace Schoen of O’ Fallon, Illinois; sister Jennifer (Jason) Allen of Delphi; special brother Andrew Hill of Elyria, Ohio; mother-in-law Carolyn Newton of Kokomo; his loyal cat Autumn; and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews who adored him.
Dave was welcomed into Heaven by his father-in-law Gene Newton, and his grandparents Willard “Jim” and Charlene Sitzes, and Henry and Anna Austin.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Life Gate Church in Logansport with Pastor Bob Gray officiating. Friends and family may visit from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Emmaus Food Pantry in Logansport. Guests are also welcome to bring canned goods to the service for donation.

Jaxon Lee Sears
Jaxon Lee Sears, 21 months old, passed away unexpectedly due to heart complications on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born at Riley in Indianapolis, IN, on November 10, 2023, the son of Luke and Allison (McMinn) Sears.
Jaxon was a gentle, energetic, and happy young boy. His bright blue eyes and bleach blonde hair gave him an angelic appearance and presence. Jaxon thrived playing outside, riding on tractors, and wrestling with his dad. He adored animals and was talented at mimicking the noises that they made. Jaxon will be remembered for lighting up the room when he walked in.
In addition to his parents Luke and Allison Sears, Jaxon is survived by grandparents Alisha and Darrell Sears, and Scott and Christine McMinn; great-grandparents Rocky and Juanita Sears, Peggy McMinn, Dale and Faye Overmyer, and James Kenner; aunts and uncles Autumn (Shane) Douglas, Summer Sears, and Austin (Hunter) McMinn; and cousins Jaylah, Parker, Paityn, Tobias, and Noah; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandfather Gayle McMinn; great-grandmother Elaine Kenner; and sibling Baby Sears.

Daniel David Wilcox
Daniel David Wilcox passed away peacefully on September 7, 2025, with the love of his family surrounding him. He was secure in the knowledge that he was going to Heaven.
Dan was born on May 14, 1985, to David and Rachel Wilcox. He married Megan Fennell on January 16, 2010. On June 27, 2017, their son Aiden was born. He graduated from Eastern High School and went on to earn a Business Degree from Purdue University. He went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Accounting from IUPUI and also received his CPA license. For the past seven years, Dan worked as a Senior Accountant for Clean Earth, formerly known as Stericycle. Before that, he was an Accountant for Somerset CPAs.
Dan, Megan, and Aiden attended Chapel Hill Christian Church, where Megan and Aiden will continue to attend. Dan and his family have been surrounded by a loving church family.
Dan’s life is celebrated for the loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend that he was. His smile and exuberance for life were contagious. Dan knew how to plan a day in order to pack in as much fun, joy, and laughter that a day could hold. He especially loved the times spent with family and friends.
Dan and Megan enjoyed backpacking together. They hiked up several mountains and trails, including parts of the Appalachian Trail and many backpacking adventures in the mountains of California, Colorado, and Washington State. Dan loved the western part of the United States, and he was so happy to be able to take his family for a tour of many national parks in July. Dan also loved being a father. He did many activities with Aiden. Dan shared his love for books, Star Wars, Legos, and video games with his son. A perfect day was any day spent sharing his time with Megan and Aiden.
Dan loved his family dearly, and he will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife Megan and son Aiden. He is also survived by his parents David and Rachel Wilcox, his brother Joseph Wilcox (fiancé Sara Frey), sister Emily (Luke) Walters, in-laws Glenda Fennell and Tim and Pamela Fennell, brothers-in law Jeremy (Ariel) Fennell, Josh (Carla) Fennell, as well as eight nieces and nephews whom he adored, and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Eugene and Delores Wilcox and his maternal grandparents Robert and Nancy Wynant.
Funeral services celebrating Dan’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at Chapel Hill Christian Church, 2600 W. Alto Road, Kokomo, with Pastor Steve Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Greentown. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4-7 p.m. Monday at the church and one hour prior to funeral service on Tuesday. Larry G. Moss
Larry G. Moss, 85, Kokomo, passed away at 10:45 a.m. on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at his home. He was born on May 23, 1940, in Logansport, Indiana, to the late Byron W. and Garnit (Abshire) Moss. He was married on January 29, 1966, in Indianapolis at Roberts Park United Methodist Church to Barbara McMinn.
Larry graduated from Twelve Mile High School in 1958, where he played on the basketball team, and at halftime he lent his musical talents to the band. He was a 1963 graduate of Purdue University, earning a degree in Electrical Engineering. While at Purdue, he served in ROTC and as an officer of Cary Quad. Upon graduation, he was inducted as 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army. He began his professional career with Delco Electronics, thanks to his knowledge of the “jungle radio” while in service. He retired in 2001 from Delphi Electronics after 36 years of service. He was a 55-year member of Grace United Methodist, the John Purdue Club, and a former member of the Kokomo Country Club and Wildcat Creek Golf Course. He took great pride in his golf games, teaching his daughter the game. He was a proud and loyal supporter of Purdue athletics, even during the down years. He enjoyed going to two Rose Bowls to cheer on his beloved Boilermakers. Larry was a charter member of the KVA, a group of friends who played volleyball on a regular basis for several years. He spent countless hours cheering on and supporting his Philadelphia Phillies.
He is survived by his wife Barbara; son Brad (Elizabeth) Moss of Zionsville; daughter Laurie Rayl of Kokomo; grandchildren Marianne Moss, Michael Moss, Jace Rayl, and Rhys Rayl; brother Max (Cathy) Moss of Brookston.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Patricia Moss; and son-in-law, James “Jimbo” Rayl.
A funeral service will take place at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at Grace United Methodist Church, 219 W. Mulberry St., Kokomo, with Pastor Matt Swisher officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery with military honors provided by the United States Army and the Kokomo VFW Military Rites Teams. Dale E. Forgey
Dale E. Forgey, 92, of Galveston, passed away peacefully with his family by his side Sunday, September 7, 2025. Dale was born November 11, 1932, in Young America to Earl and Osa (Hursh) Forgey. He married Mildred “Millie” Thieke on May 27, 1955, and she preceded him in death November 17, 2013.
Dale was a lifelong farmer. He loved raising cattle on the family farm along with his son and grandchildren. He also retired from Delco with over 30 years’ service. He was a member of the Burlington Masonic Lodge and earned his 50-year pin. He was also a proud member of the NRA.
Surviving family include his daughter Susan (Carl) Perry of Galveston; his daughter-in-law Katherine Forgey of Galveston; five grandchildren Tyler Perry of Sharpsville, Seth Forgey (Madison) of Walton, and Savannah Krock (Derrick), Spenser Forgey (Carly), and Shelbi Forgey (Aaron) all of Galveston; his great-grandchildren Mariah, Viktor, Hunter, Xander, Addilyn, Kendrix, Montgomery, Korbin, Zeberiah, and Kassidy. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Mildred, son Mike, sisters Phyllis, Shirley, and Donna; special friend Joyce Pullen; and a special son John Cox.
The highlight of his day was lunch with staff and friends at Bullshipper's Cafe. It meant so much to him to visit with everyone.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at Center Community of Faith Church, 1475 E. 1125 S. Galveston, IN. 46932 with Pastor Brent Cripe. Burial will follow immediately after visitation in Center Cemetery.

Larry Allen King
Larry Allen King, a cherished husband, brother, and stepfather, and grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home in Kokomo, IN, on September 9, 2025, at the age of 67. Born in Kokomo on May 2, 1958, to Leonard King and Edith Finch, Larry was a lifelong resident of the community he adored.
After graduating from Kokomo High School in 1977, Larry displayed his love for precision and detail by pursuing an auto mechanic degree from Lincoln Tech. His commitment to service was evident when he joined the Army in 1979, serving his country honorably until 1980. Larry built his career at Indiana Mills, dedicating many years to the company before transitioning to a role in maintenance at the local YMCA. His work ethic and reliability made him a valued member of the workforce and community.
A true companion and soulmate, Larry married Kathy King on May 4, 1993. Together, they navigated the joys and challenges of life, forming an unbreakable bond. Larry was a loving stepfather to Richard Norton and Robert (Ashley Hensley) Norton, providing guidance and support as they grew into adulthood. His family circle included his devoted sisters Deloris (John) Baker and Teresa (Rick Walker) King. Though he was preceded in death by his parents Leonard King and Edith Finch, as well as his sisters Darlene (Jeff) Powell and April King, the legacy of love and laughter they shared endures.
Known for his creative spirit, Larry had an analytical mind that found solace in the complexities of Star Trek Online, where he could explore new worlds and seek out new life and civilizations. His love for animals was profound, often stating he preferred their company over people, a testament to his gentle and kind-hearted nature.
Larry will be remembered as an interesting individual, someone who could always offer a unique perspective on life's quandaries. His creative problem-solving abilities were not just evident in his work but also in the way he approached life's challenges. Friends and family will miss his analytical conversations that were as enlightening as they were entertaining.
Larry's departure leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, yet his spirit will continue to inspire. He lived a life characterized by dedication, whether to his country, his work, or his loved ones. As we bid farewell to Larry Allen King, we celebrate a life well-lived, marked by the indelible impressions he left on the many lives he touched. His memory will forever be cherished as a beacon of creativity, thoughtfulness, and love.
Trinae Lachelle Rivas
Trinae Lachelle Rivas, 53, of Kokomo, Indiana, passed away August 28, 2025. She was born on September 29, 1971, in Passaic, New Jersey, the daughter of Leary and Ruby (Wynn) Rivas.
Trinae loved to sing and had an absolutely beautiful voice. She once sang at the Carnegie Hall in New York City with her high school choir. She also loved playing piano, gardening, and collecting tiaras. She adored her three beloved cats Arence, Azura, and Cow.
Left to cherish her memory is her son Atticus Rivas; father Leary Rivas; brother Leary Rivas Jr.; sister Rohnea (Thomas) Hartsell and their son Brayden; brother Derrell (Haydee) Rivas; sister Lorissa (Michael) Wallace; a host of aunts and uncles; and special friends Stacy Alvarez, Troy Cagle, Stephanie Huang, Danielle Johnson, and Jan Timmons.
Trinae was preceded in death by her mother Ruby Rivas; son Troy Maxwell Rivas; and brother Brennon Rivas.
