Helen Sue Weirauch
Helen Sue Weirauch, 67, left this world to be united with her Savior, husband, mom, dad, brother, sister, and nephews in Heaven on September 9, 2025.
Helen was born on June 7, 1958, in Tipton, Indiana, to Mildred Bryant and Willie Dodd. In 1965, Helen adopted Dominic Lazaro as her dad. Helen and her siblings were raised by Mildred and Dominic in Kokomo, Indiana.
On February 1, 1991, Helen married Richard Weirauch, who preceded her to Heaven in 2014. Helen was well known around Kokomo for her cooking, especially her biscuits and gravy. Helen battled cancer with the help of Community Howard Oncology Department and her special friend Mari Cruz Lamberson and was proudly in remission. Helen was a member of the Moose Lodge and VFW Post 1152. Helen loved spending time with and cooking for her family. Helen also enjoyed watching Sunday football, court shows, and true crime shows.
Helen is survived by her children James (Billie) Clark, Jamie Rodriguez, and Levi Dodd, her siblings Dale Dodd, Brenda Thompson, Melba (Fred) Hochstedler, Phylis Boyles, Dan (Jackie) Dodd, and Jack (Brenda) Dodd, her grandchildren Anthony (Brooke) Rodriguez, Preston Clark & Hannah Williams, Desirae Rodriguez & Dean Kaczorowski, Mercadise Grills, Toby Brown, Bethanie Warnock, and Terry Warnock III, and great-grandchildren Ayla, Emma, Olivia, AveLynn, Sofia, Baby Kaczorowski, Ryder, Ryatt, Niko, and Mitchell. Helen had a special love for her many nieces and nephews. Helen is also survived by her former husband and friend James Clark, whom she had a special bond with, and special friends Martin and Selena. Helen will also be missed deeply by her dogs Mosie and Miller.
Helen was reunited in heaven with her husband Rick, mom and dad Mildred and Dominic, sister Zoetta Clifton, brother Christopher Lazaro, brother-in-law Bob Bell, and nephews Brandon Dodd and Scott Dodd.
A funeral service celebrating Helen’s life will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 3 p.m. at Stout and Son Funeral Home, 200 E. Main St., Russiaville, with Jack Dodd officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Donations may be made in Helen’s memory to the Community Howard Oncology Department and Guardian Angel Hospice. Kristopher Steven Boucher
Kristopher Steven Boucher, 41, of Indianapolis, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 11, 2025. Kris was born on September 8, 1984, to his mother, Anna Mae (Richards) Townsend.
Kris graduated from Kokomo High School in the class of 2002. Through the years, Kris worked in retail and also ran his own construction company. He was known for his great sense of humor, outgoing personality, and friendly nature. He was a true music lover; you could usually hear Kris's music playing well before you saw him. He found joy in all different styles of music. Kris was a passionate person and had many interests; from hunting and fishing to gambling and fast cars. It’s safe to say he was always up for a good adventure!
More than anything, Kris loved his family. He was incredibly proud of his children, and always counted it a blessing to be a father. If you knew Kris, then you will never forget his vibrant spirit, quick wit, and his ability to brighten your day. So many memories of love and laughter that will be cherished forever. Kris will be missed beyond measure!
Those left to carry on Kris’s legacy of love are his mother Anna Mae Townsend; children Kristopher Boucher Jr,. Zach Boucher, Haley Boucher, and Piper Warren; siblings Larry (Jennifer) Boucher, Tony (Stacey) Lee, and Misty (John) Andrews; aunts & uncles Elliott (Shirley) Richards, Mary Richards, Jack (Carrie) Richards, Bobby Richards, Ruth Smith, Robin (Suzanne) Richards, and Phyllis (Johnny) Fields; great aunt Emily Mengas; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Kris was preceded in death by his grandma Martha Lanning and uncle Charles Richards.
A service celebrating Kris’s life will be held on Monday, September 15, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Taylor & Cowan Funeral Home, located at 314 N. Main St. in Tipton, with Pastor John Waters officiating. A visitation for family and friends will take place prior to the service from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the funeral home.

Albert H. Ebeling, Sr.
Albert H. Ebeling, Sr., 99, of Kokomo, passed away at 2:07 a.m. on Monday, September 8, 2025, at his home. He was born May 2, 1926, in Brooklyn, New York, to Ernest and Mary (Hyland) Ebeling. In 1957, he married Ruth O. Goodnight in Tipton, and she preceded him in death on January 23, 2018.
Albert worked as a carpenter for Ted D. Anderson and retired in 1990. He enjoyed horticultural gardening, gem collecting, building homes, taking road trips, and loved his Schnauzers. Health and nutrition were also important to Albert, contributing to his longevity. He was a member of the Carpenters Union.
Survivors include his children Julie (Jeff) Humphreys, Cindy (Rob) Fisher, Chris Ebeling, David Ebeling, and Erik Svedin; daughter-in-law Beth Ebeling; son-in-law Ron Rougeau; caretaker Monica Fowler; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife Ruth Ebeling, he was preceded in death by his son Albert Ebeling, Jr; daughter Karin Rougeau; ex-wife Maudie Chappell; one brother; and two sisters.
Friends are invited to visit from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo. Robert Lee Bruist
Robert Lee Bruist, 81, South Mud Lake, Indiana, passed away at 7:02 a.m. on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at his residence, surrounded by his loved ones.
Born March 2, 1944, in Augusta, Kentucky, he was the son of George Stanley Bruist and Mary Anna (Hargett) Bruist. He was married on May 11, 1968, to Ernestine (Wilkerson) Bruist, and she preceded him in death on August 17, 2022.
Bob retired from U.S. Army Indiana National Guard, where he served with the 1st Battalion, 293rd Infantry. He was drafted into active duty with the U.S. Army during Vietnam and was a member of the VFW and American Legion at Rochester. For more than 30 years, he worked for and retired from Chrysler Corporation in Kokomo. Living at South Mud Lake for more than 20 years, he loved fishing at the lake or spending time up at Mike’s Pizza, drinking coffee and being with friends. In addition to hunting, he enjoyed tinkering in his garage, where he honed his skills in small engine repair.
Survivors include one daughter Connie Bruist (Trent) Helms of Darby, Montana; bonus children Archie and Debbie Haney of Huntington; daughter-in-law Peggy Bruist of Kokomo; girlfriend Tammy McCarter of Peru; six grandchildren Rob Bruist of Florida, Nicole Bruist of Kokomo, Brandy Anderson and Frank Jones III, both of Florida, Jason Fagaly and Nicholas Fagaly, both of Ohio; seven great-grandchildren; and three nephews Bobby Thomas, Brian Thomas, and Chris Thomas, all of Kentucky.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one son Eugene Bruist; one grandson Michael Bruist; two sisters Norma Thomas and Betty Hargett; and one brother Gary Bruist.
Military rites and services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at McClain Funeral Home, Denver, Indiana.
Visitation will be from 4-7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 19, 2025, at the funeral home.

Darwin "Piney" Kaui Glassburn
Darwin "Piney" Kaui Glassburn, a man known for his infectious humor, boundless love, and adventurous spirit, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2025, in Kokomo, Indiana. Born on May 24, 1957, in the vibrant city of Honolulu, Hawaii, Darwin was the cherished son of Myrtline (Napuunoa) Wallace and Raymond Glassburn Sr. His journey through life was marked by joy, laughter, and the love of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
After graduating from Tipton High School in 1975, Darwin proudly served his country in the United States Army, a testament to his dedication and patriotism. Following his military service, he embarked on a successful career at Chrysler, where he dedicated 30 years before retiring. His colleagues remember him not only for his strong work ethic but also for his ability to lighten the mood with a well-timed joke or a friendly smile.
Darwin's life was rich with interests that spoke to his playful and competitive nature. He was an avid fisherman, finding peace and solitude in the gentle lap of the waves. His prowess at the billiards table was well-known, and many will recall his expert shots and the friendly banter that accompanied each game. Horseshoes was another favorite pastime, and he could often be found enjoying the outdoors while challenging friends and family to a match.
Spirituality played a significant role in Darwin's life, guiding him with an inner compass that was reflected in his kindness and compassion towards others. He lived his beliefs through his actions, always ready to lend a helping hand or share a word of encouragement.
Darwin's legacy is carried on by his loving companion of 24 years Karla Nelson of Kokomo, and his daughter Niki (Woody) Bond. He was a proud father figure to Karla's daughters Autumn Smith, Amie Smith, and Ashley (Michael) Baker. His role as a grandfather brought him immense joy, and he will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren Kehara Glassburn, Kailon Bond, Carson Smith, Maddie Smith, Leny Flores, and Sofii Baker. His siblings Ray (Rhona) Glassburn Jr., Rick (Ruthie) Glassburn, and Laura (John) Mahaney will hold dear the memories of their brother's laughter and love.
Preceded in death by his parents, Darwin's spirit will continue to resonate in the hearts of those he left behind. His life was a tapestry woven with moments of joy, shared experiences, and the warmth of his presence. Darwin "Piney" Kaui Glassburn will be remembered not just for the life he lived, but for the lives he touched and the happiness he brought to so many. His departure leaves behind a void that will be filled with cherished memories and the echoes of his laughter.
Per Piney's wishes, there will be no public services, but instead there will be a tree planting ceremony with his immediate family in his honor.

Diana Jane (Baden) Young
Diana Jane (Baden) Young, 71, of Tipton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 11, 2025, with her family by her side. Diana was born on March 15, 1954, to her parents Robert Baden, Alice Baden, and biological mother Helen Browning. Diana married Bill Young on November 3, 1975, and he preceded her in death on March 8, 2021.
Diana attended Tipton High School. She then went on to earn her degree in nursing. She worked for Tipton Hospital for many years. Diana was a hard worker. She had the gift of empathy and cared deeply for her patients. She was kind, gentle, and very helpful, which made her an exceptional nurse.
In her free time, Diana found peace in crocheting and took pride in the beautiful pieces she created. She also collected angels. Diana’s faith was always very important to her. She was truly a woman of God and an encouragement to many throughout her life.
At home, Diana was the heart of her family. She was a devoted wife, a nurturing mother, and a proud grandma. She poured love into everything she did. Her family was her joy, and her legacy will live on in each of them.
Those left to carry on Diana’s legacy of love are her children Joe Young (Tina) and Darlene Young; grandchildren Jocelyn Young and Waylon Young; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Diana was preceded in death by her husband Bill Young; parents Robert & Alice Baden and Helen Browning; and brother Roger Hamilton.

Wayne Jeffrey Downey
Wayne Jeffrey Downey, affectionately known as Jeff to his friends and family, passed away peacefully at the age of 72 on September 3, 2025, in his hometown of Kokomo, Indiana. Born on April 15, 1953, to Beverly Jane and Wayne Jan Downey, both of whom predeceased him, Jeff's life was marked by a warm spirit and an enduring sense of humor that left an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to have known him.
Jeff was a proud graduate of Western High School's class of 1971. His adolescence in Kokomo laid the foundation for a lifetime of cherished friendships and a strong sense of community. He carried these values throughout his life, forming lasting bonds with those he met along the way.
After high school, Jeff ventured to Globe, Arizona, where he found his calling working for the Sheriff's Department. It was there that he became an unparalleled storyteller, regaling friends and family with tall tales of his adventures and the colorful characters he encountered. These stories would often be shared during family gatherings, leaving everyone in attendance eagerly awaiting the next installment.
Jeff's life was not without its hardships. He bore the loss of his son Arthur Downey with a quiet strength that was a testament to his character. Yet, amid life's trials, he remained a spirited and handy man, always ready to lend a helping hand or share a word of encouragement.
He is survived by his children Amy (Rhett) Perdue and Wayne (Susan) Downey, five grandchildren, and his sisters Lisa (Ray McCullum) Harris and Lenora (Chris) Shanabarger. Jeff's best friend Larry Jewell stood by him through thick and thin, and their friendship was a testament to the loyalty and camaraderie that defined Jeff's approach to his relationships.

Barbara A. (Perry) Orr, 45, Greentown, passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2025, after a long illness. She was born in Muncie on December 18, 1979, to the late Tamara M. (Dienfenbaugh) Clark and David R. Perry.
Barbara is survived by her sister Ashley Clark of Muncie; niece Hayden Clark; nephew Andre Malone Jr.; brother Lawrence (Leah) Perry of Greenfield; and nephew Kamden Perry.
She was preceded in death by her parents and both maternal and paternal grandparents.
