Grant Michael Prather
Grant Michael Prather, 16, of Walton, ran to Jesus on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born February 24, 2009, to Michael and Stephany Prather.
Grant was a sophomore at Carroll Jr. Sr. High School in Flora where he was loved by all. He enjoyed the social life of all the activities he was involved in. He was so proud to be the Honorary Captain of the football team and took the job very seriously to lead the team to the football field on game day. He was involved in 4-H, and the highlight of his fair was greeting all his friends and family at the sheep show. He loved to cook and enjoyed watching the Incredible Dr. Pol and Pioneer Woman on TV. He had a love for music of all kinds. He was an active member of Deer Creek Presbyterian Church; he loved to attend to get a little Jesus in him as he would say.
He is survived by his loving parents Michael & Stephany Prather and the best little brother Garrett of Walton. He is also survived by Grammy & Pa, Bill and Susie Dyke, His favorite Aunt “Mo”- Monica Prather, his special 8-3 Mom Anechia Nelson, who was by his side during school hours each day, and his chosen family Jeff and Josh LeDonne. He leaves behind his wonderful school family and all of his special friends and family in the community who love him dearly. He was preceded in death by his grandpa Jack Prather.
A celebration of Grant’s impactful life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at Carroll Jr.-Sr. High School Gymnasium with Pastor David Smook officiating. Private Burial will follow at Center Cemetery near Young America. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Grant Prather Memorial Fund c/o Carroll County Community Foundation, 215 W. Sycamore St., Kokomo, Indiana, 46901. Murray Weaver Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
Paul Daniel Bishop
Paul Daniel Bishop, aged 76, went home to be with the Lord on October 9, 2025, in Lafayette IN. Born on November 30, 1948, Paul dedicated many years to his craftsmanship as a skilled residential painter. He took great pride in his work, which was evident in every project he undertook. He also spent 13 years with Kingston Products Corp.
Paul was known for his sense of humor and ability to make others laugh. His hobbies included watching Westerns and playing Euchre with friends. He also cherished the companionship of his dogs Shaq, Oscar, and Peanut, and his cats Sassy and Sissy.
He is survived by his children Michelle (David) White of Lafayette, Melissa (Robert) Parker of Nevada, and Paul (Heather) Bishop of Peru; and siblings Douglas E. Bishop of Fowler, Thelma M. Bishop, Deborah L. (Hubert) Paul, and Michael J. (Debra) Bishop, all of Kokomo. Paul also was a proud grandfather to 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Gail A. Bishop, his son Kevin D. Bishop, his parents Genard L. and Geneva L. Bishop, and his brother Clarence E. Bishop.
A service to celebrate Paul’s life will be held at First Baptist Church, 260 W. Main St., Russiaville, IN, on November 7, beginning at 10 a.m., with lunch to follow.
