Marcia Ann Buman

Marcia Ann Buman, a beacon of love and faith, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2025, at the age of 79 in Carmel, Indiana. Born on May 10, 1946, in Lafayette, Indiana, to Francis Earl and Betty Lou Rusk, Marcia’s life was a testament to her generous spirit and her unwavering commitment to her family and faith.

Marcia’s journey through life was marked by the love she shared with her family. She was a devoted mother to her son David A. Cronnin and cherished the memories created with his father Robert Keith Cronnin. Her brother Jim Rusk (Debbie) and sisters Janet Harrison (Jack) and Debbie Burns will fondly remember the bond they shared. Marcia’s legacy continues through her adoring grandchildren Colby and Cayden Cronnin, Nathan and Brandon (Nicole) McDorman, Chelsea Ann Whitaker (Taylor), Samantha Christine Word, Kathryn Marie Cronnin Dulworth, Zachary and Anthony Fields, Tiana Dulworth, Krissa and Abigail Whalen, Isabelle Harrison, Maddyson Fleenor, and her 11 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy to her life. We cannot forget her goldendoodle Bob, who brought her constant companionship.

While Marcia was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband Vernon Buman, her daughters Christine Marie and Melissa Ann, and her brother Michael Rusk, her memory will be cherished and kept alive by the many lives she touched.

A proud graduate of Western High School, Marcia’s education laid the foundation for her lifelong pursuit of knowledge and her deep love for the Christian faith. She found solace and strength in reading the Bible, which guided her through life’s challenges and triumphs.

Marcia’s artistic talents were a gift to all who knew her. She was an artist not only of canvas but also of life, capturing the beauty of nature and flowers in her paintings and the exquisite detail in the wedding cakes she decorated. Her love for the Smoky Mountains was reflected in her artwork, where she translated the serenity of nature onto canvas.

Those who knew Marcia would describe her as loving, faith-filled, and generous. She had a heart that knew no bounds and a spirit that was as vibrant as the flowers she adored. Her presence was a comfort, her laughter a melody, and her guidance a light for her family and friends.

Marcia’s life was a celebration of the values she held dear – family, faith, and the beauty of the world around her. As we bid farewell to this remarkable woman, we are reminded of the impact one life can have on so many. Marcia Ann Buman will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and generosity will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.
