Edith D. Breedlove, Jessie Lee Freeman, Charles S. Taylor Jr., Barbara Frances “Barb” Round, William Eugene Clark, Douglas Harold McPike

Edith D. Breedlove

Edith D. Breedlove, 85, Kokomo, passed away at 9:53 a.m. on November 29, 2025, at Community Howard Regional Health. She was born in Roseau, MN, on November 5, 1940, the daughter of the late Guy D. and Amanda A. (Gulbranson) Jaenicke. On May 27, 1961, she married Homer D. Breedlove, and he preceded her in death on April 14, 1985.

Edith graduated from Roseau High School. She worked for Delco Electronics and retired after 32 years of service. Edith volunteered at Community Howard for many years and was a member of the Macedonia Christian Church and the Greentown Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed gardening, working in her yard, doing word searches, and sudoku every day. She found joy in supporting her family in all their activities.

Edith is survived by her children Bryan (Nancy) Breedlove, Kevin Breedlove, Lisa Armfield, and Jeff (Dawn) Breedlove; grandchildren Trenton Breedlove, Grant Breedlove, JoAnna Breedlove, Josh Breedlove, Sequoia Breedlove, Kamie Hall, Cheyenne Rutherford, Lavinia Breedlove, Sebastian Breedlove, and Emanuel Breedlove; and sister Carol Cupp.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 11 siblings.

A funeral service celebrating Edith’s life will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 5, 2025, at Macedonia Christian Church, 1532 S, 500 E, Kokomo, with Rick Keck officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday at the church. An Eastern Star Service will be at 3:30 p.m., prior to visitation. Memorial contributions may be made in Edith’s name to the Macedonia Christian Church. Jessie Lee Freeman

Jessie Lee Freeman, 87, Celina, OH., passed away at 3:42 p.m. on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Joint Township Memorial Hospital in Ohio. She was born on March 6, 1938, in Middlesboro, KY, the daughter of the late Rev. Dorcie and Alma (Leach) Lyke. On November 7, 1970, she married William R. Miller, and he preceded her in death on June 17, 1978.

Jessie graduated from Sharpsville High School in 1957. She attended Kokomo Business College and received a Management Certificate from Purdue University. She worked for First National Bank as an Auditor for 31 years before retiring in April 1993. She loved the Lord and would tell anyone that she could about him. Over her lifetime she served at Nevada Church of God, Christian Heritage Worship Center, Bethel Tabernacle, and Abounding Grace Ministries. She helped in Bus Ministry and taught Sunday school and children’s church for years. Jessie loved singing and playing the piano, organ, and accordion. She enjoyed reading and studying her Bible and learning more about God’s word. She ministered at nursing homes and volunteered at Community Howard and the Kokomo Rescue Mission. Above all these things, except the Lord, she loved being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, just spending time together. She had a heart to serve wherever there was a need.

Jessie is survived by her daughter Marie (Steve) Bratcher of Celina, OH; granddaughters, Torie (Dylan) Brosher of Celina, OH, and Allison (Isaiah) Brosher of Muncie, IN; great-grandchildren Cooper, Ellie, Wrigley, and Sienna Brosher; siblings Arletta Ledford, Bea Freeman, Lou Davis, and Johnny Lyke; sister-in-law Barb Lyke; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; siblings Stella Lyke, Irene Hughes, Eddie Lyke, and Ernie Lyke; brothers-in-law Rev. Ray Ledford, Rev. Ray Freeman, and Rev. Don Davis; sister-in-law Alona Lyke; niece Lisa Pore; and nephew Arnie Freeman.

A funeral service celebrating Jessie’s life will take place at 1 p.m. on Friday, December 5, 2025, at Bethel Tabernacle, 661 W, 400 S, Kokomo, with Pastors Steve Branstutter and Steve Bratcher officiating. Private burial will take place in Crown Point Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday at the church. Charles S. Taylor Jr.

Charles S. Taylor Jr., 64, Kokomo, passed away at 1:40 p.m. Monday, December 1, 2025, at his home. He was born July 2, 1961, in Frankfort, IN, to Charles S. and Nanette (James) Taylor.

Charles worked construction for many years and especially enjoyed the time he worked with Ken Lucas. He was a hard worker and mastered many building trades. Charles loved bluegrass music and attending the Bean Blossom Festival. He played guitar and was an avid IU and Colts sports fan. Most of all, he cherished time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his father and stepmother Charles and Mattie Taylor; sons Charles (Elizabeth) Taylor III and Andy (Amy) Taylor; grandchildren Clayton Taylor, Garrett Taylor, Lennon Taylor, Mason Taylor, Emmalynn Taylor, Alex Taylor, Brooklyn Taylor, Cailey Taylor, and Olivia Taylor; great-grandchildren Kassious Taylor, Amyiah Taylor, Gabriella Corrlas, and Mateo Corrlas; siblings Joyce Warrick, Mable Griffin, Judy Lucas, Ray Taylor, and Randy Taylor; stepsister Kathy George; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Funeral services celebrating Charles’ life will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 5, 2025, at Hasler & Stout Funeral Home, 112 East Main Street, Greentown. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Barbara Frances “Barb” Round

Barbara Frances “Barb” Round, 89, Kokomo, passed away peacefully at 11:50 a.m. on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at Community Howard Regional Health in Kokomo. She was born on October 9, 1936, in Liverpool, England, the daughter of the late Henry & Elsie (Wright) Sharp. On July 26, 1956, in Liverpool, England, she married Ren P. Round, who preceded her in death on March 31, 2000.

Throughout her life, Barb remained deeply connected to her roots while embracing new experiences with enthusiasm. After moving from England to the United States, she maintained strong ties to her heritage through friendships and community involvement. At St. Andrew Episcopal Church in Kokomo, she found camaraderie among fellow expatriates in the English ladies group known as the Tea Baggers.

Barb had a vibrant personality marked by sharp wit and an enduring sense of humor that endeared her to all who knew her. She was family-oriented at heart—always present for milestones big and small—and created lasting memories through simple joys like sharing stories over tea.

In earlier years, Barb enjoyed bowling before discovering a passion for golf later in life. She was an avid reader who could often be found with a book in hand and took great pleasure in knitting and crocheting gifts for loved ones. Her love of games extended to card clubs such as Euchre, where she formed lasting friendships over friendly competition. Travel was another joy in Barb’s life—especially her journey to New Zealand—which reflected her adventurous spirit and appreciation for the world beyond her doorstep.

Barb is survived by her daughter Karen (Greg) Warwick; son-in-law Charlie Barnett; her cherished grandchildren Kari (George) Swing, Robert (Carissa) Round, Heather (Jon) Snyder, Sarah (Robbie) Wooley, Christina (Don) Turnpaugh, and Brian (Susie) Warwick; great-grandchildren Ryley, Kyle, and Tyler Swing, Owen, Clay, Rhett, and Ruby Snyder, Madison and Nolan Wooley, Amber Turnpaugh, Megan Augustine, and Dustin Turnpaugh. Barb also leaves behind several nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart. She is fondly remembered by dear friends Judy McCoy and Dorothy Wagner, whose companionship enriched her later years.

Barb was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ren P. Round; daughter Dianna Barnett; brother Peter Sharp; and sister Audrey Sealeaf.

William Eugene Clark

William Eugene Clark was born on February 2, 1927, in Kokomo, Indiana. He passed away on November 28, 2025, at the age of 98. William Eugene Clark was a resident of Kokomo, Indiana.



Douglas Harold McPike

Douglas Harold McPike, 69, Kokomo, passed away at 12:38 a.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at Community Howard Regional Health in Kokomo. He was born January 21, 1956, in Kokomo, the son of the late Harold & Eleanor (Brown) McPike.

Douglas was a proud graduate of Kokomo High School and remained deeply connected to his hometown throughout his life. He found great pride in being a McPike and took immense satisfaction in his role within the family business. His dedication to his work reflected not only his strong sense of responsibility but also his commitment to upholding the values and legacy of his family name.

Known for his vibrant personality and infectious humor, Douglas had a gift for making people laugh. He loved entertaining others and brought joy to many through his quick wit and warm presence. Whether sharing stories or simply enjoying time with those around him, he had a way of making every moment memorable. Outside of work and family life, Douglas enjoyed simple pleasures that brought him peace and happiness. He loved fishing and could often be found at the park watching ducks glide across the water. A devoted sports fan, he especially enjoyed cheering on the Indianapolis Colts and Indiana Hoosiers. NASCAR races were another favorite pastime that brought excitement into his life.

Douglas’s love for family was evident in the deep connections he maintained with those closest to him. He is survived by his children Anna Marie McPike and Andrew Douglas McPike; grandchildren Savannah Marie McPike, Andrew Julius McPike, and Janna Marie Monticolo; nieces and nephews Josette McPike (Jon) Schlegel, Brian (Andrea) McPike, and Carrie (Scott) Perkins; great-nieces and -nephews, Marie McPike, Marabel McPike, Max McPike, Conrad Schlegel, Caitie (Dustin) Smallwood, Jack (Sarah) Perkins, and Brooke Perkins. His lifelong friendship with childhood best friend Steve McDorman was a testament to the enduring bonds he formed throughout his life.

Douglas was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers David McPike and Steven (Mariel) McPike.

In keeping with Douglas’ wishes, his family will celebrate his life in a private ceremony. Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory has been entrusted with cremation.
