Jane Ann Bapp
Jane Ann Bapp, 67, Denver, Indiana, and formerly of Kokomo, Indiana, passed away at 7:05 p.m. on Monday, December 1, 2025, at her residence.
Born October 6, 1958, in Tipton, Indiana, she was the daughter of Vernon Bowen and Norma (Hayworth) Jarvis.
Jane grew up in Howard County, Indiana, and attended high school in Kokomo. She had worked at Federal Mogul for many years. She was an avid football and Colts fan and also enjoyed watching NASCAR, especially the Earnhardts. She loved fishing, camping, and spending time with her family—especially her grandbabies.
Survivors include her children April Doty of Rensselaer, Angela (Jim) Smith of Mount Ayr, Carl (Ashley) Bapp, Jr. of Logansport, Windy Estrada of Peru, and Brandon Ward of Peru; grandchildren Scott, Alex, Monica, Haylie, Jazmine, Kira, Tripp, Dalton, and Marley; seven great-grandchildren; brother Richard Bowen of Denver; son-in-law David Doty; and her beloved canine companion Miss Kitty.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one son Patrick Joseph Gaskill, Jr.; brothers Mark Bowen and Ronald Bowen; sister Peggy Bender; granddaughter Abrahna Perez; a son-in-law James Smith; and her angel-dogs Catfish and Peyton.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 5, 2025, at McClain Funeral Home, Denver, Indiana, with Pastor Terry Russell officiating. Burial will follow in Albright Cemetery, Kokomo.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. on Friday, at the funeral home.

Phillip Lee Chism
Phillip Lee Chism, of Russiaville, Indiana, passed away on November 30, 2025. He was born on February 1, 1936, in Greentown, Indiana, to Woodrow and Maxine Chism. He married Sandra Hankins on February 9, 1957, and she survives.
He was a member of the Army National Guard from 1957-1963. He was also a member of Murat Shriners, Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, and New London Masonic Lodge #283.
Phil and his wife enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, NASCAR racing, and snowmobiling. He was a member of the Central Indiana Snowmobile Club, ISA, MSA, and Chippewa Sno-Kats.
He retired from General Motors in 1995. He had also worked at Gerber Sanitary Pottery. He was a member of UAW #292 and was a 1954 graduate of Kokomo High School.
He loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Phil is survived by his wife Sandra; son David (Billie) of Russiaville; daughter Kimberly (Danny) Wright of Kokomo; grandchildren Kara (Eriq) Queen of Marion, Lindsy (Zach) Roark of Panama City Beach, Sophia (Logan) Mason of Kokomo, and Daniel Wright of Kokomo; great-grandchildren Mason, Curtis, Kelsey, Brady, Caitleigh, Brighton, and Waylon; great-great-grandchildren, Kayden, Vivian, and Esmè; step-grandchildren Jessica, Emily, and Brett; and step-great-grandchildren Cayden, Braxton, Noah, Rylie, David, Drake, Lydia, and Ambrose.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son Curt; great-grandson Archer; siblings Phyllis, Mary, Linda, Jerry, and Ira; and beloved dog Bear.
Visitation will take place at Ellers Mortuary and Cremation Center, 3400 S. Webster Street, Kokomo, on Friday, December 5, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until the start of funeral services at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery.
Sarah June Stevens (Githens)
Sarah June Stevens (Githens) passed Wednesday, the 26th of November, 2025, at Community North Hospital, in Indianapolis. She was born the 11th of February, 1942, in Jonesboro/Gas City, Indiana, to Ernest Floyd and Annabell (Cook) Githens. She was a graduate of Mississinewa High School, class of 1960, the Mississinewa Thespians. She was a recipient of the Betty Crocker Future Homemaker of Tomorrow Award, 1960. She earned her associate’s degree in 1977, from Southwestern Michigan College, where she received the President’s Award for a 4.0 GPA. She also attended Indiana University at South Bend in 1978.
Sarah held several jobs in her life, including being a receptionist for Dr. Stark, DDS, and working for Clark Equipment Credit, both in Niles, Michigan, as well as teaching ballroom dance lessons. She went on to work for South Bend Freightline and Koonts Wagner Electric as an Account Manager, both in South Bend, Indiana. She later taught as an instructor at the Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Mishawaka, Indiana, before moving to Kokomo, Indiana, and teaching dance there as well. She also enjoyed being a DJ from 1993 until 2011.
Sarah has always been a “doer” who led by example of action. She joined the Unitarian Universalist Church in 1966 and was President of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Kokomo from 2008 until 2010. She was the Program Chairman of the Fellowship of Kokomo from 2005 until 2016. She as involved with many community organizations throughout her life, including the League of Women Voters, Member, 1964 to present; Treasurer, LWV Howard County, 2015 to present; Coordinated Assistance Ministries, 2012 to present; the Literacy Coalition 2012 to present; Master Gardeners of Howard County, President, 2015 to present; Community Garden (Ivy Tech/Master Gardeners), 2012 to present; Kokomo Beautiful - planting hanging flower pots on street light poles, downtown street corner rain gardens - 2012 to present; Habitat for Humanity - since at least 2000 until near 2022 (per Stevens’ memory); Bridges Outreach Project 30 - 2016; Psi Iota Xi Sorority, Niles, MI; Children’s Vision and Hearing Screening Committee, 1978; Psi Iota Xi Sorority, Niles, MI; and the Arts and Crafts Committee for the Niles Apple Festival, 1982.
Her hobbies included ballroom dancing, gardening, home construction/remodeling, art, and hand-blown glass.
Surviving relatives include her son Kenneth Stevens; daughter Celena Stevens; granddaughter Jasmine Stevens; sisters Doris Miller (Githens) and Mary Ann Coronado; and brothers Bob Githens, Richard Githens, Steve Githens, and Tom Githens.
Sarah was preceded in death by her father Ernest Floyd Githens; mother Annabell Githens (Cook); and sisters Roberta (M) Gallatin, (M) Mugrage (Githens)
There will be a visitation for Sarah on Thursday and Friday, December 4th & 5th, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Kokomo, 1704 W. Boulevard St., Kokomo, IN 46903-6108. There will be a celebration of life service on Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with a memory sharing discussion beginning at 11 a.m., and a luncheon at 12 p.m., also at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship.
Veda Mae Reynolds
Veda Mae Reynolds, 86, of Kokomo, passed away at her home at 9:03 p.m. on Monday, December 1, 2025. She was born May 10, 1939, in Evening Shade, Arkansas, to Wesley and Eula (Duncan) Hinson.
Veda attended Galveston High School and worked for 31 years as a custodian at General Motors/Delco before retiring in July of 1996. She loved gardening, especially tending to her flowers, bird watching, and antiquing.
Survivors include her children LaRonda (Steve) Smith, John (Carol) Reynolds, Jr., and James (Betty) Reynolds; grandchildren Sarah (Josh) Lutke, Jordan Reynolds, Marcia (Brian) Moore, Ashley (Kevin) Minor, Sean (Jenny) Smith, John Reynolds III (fiancé Madison Mikesell), Dana (Jeff) Malone, Diana (Jason) Jenkins, and David (Catherine) Jacobs; great-grandchildren Harper, Holden, Jasmine, Carmen, Madison, Brandon, Ashlynn, Liam, Tyler, Derik, Jayden, Brayleigh, Mason, John Cullen, Griffin, Fayth, Genevieve, Gavin, Gage, Grace, Page, Presley, Jason, Lucy, and Henry; sister Verlene House; special niece Ramonia Eldridge; along with numerous other nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters Madge Thompson, Coleen Maple, and Irene Millsap; and brothers Eulice Hinson and Eanos Hinson.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Stout & Son Funeral Home Sharpsville Chapel, 204 N. Church St., Sharpsville, with Chaplain Steven Claspell officiating. David Wayne Grant
David Wayne Grant, 61 years old, of Kokomo, passed away at 4:52 p.m. Saturday, November 29, 2025. He was born in McLeansboro, IL, on May 26, 1964, the son of Robert and Luwanda (Britt) Grant. On March 2, 1984, he married Camille Kirby, and she survives.
David was passionate about being a truck driver and last worked for Bird Bros. Trucking. He was born to be the best dad and grandpa to his family. He was a loving man and always showed it. He will be remembered for his strength, bravery, and standing up for people who could not stand up for themselves. He was the best provider to his family and had an amazing sense of humor. David’s favorite hobbies were talking and spending time with his grandchildren, buying, selling, and trading cars, and fishing.
In addition to his wife Camille, David is survived by his children Samantha (Jason) Galligan, Crystal (James Robertson) Grant, and Anthony “Tony” Grant; grandchildren Xavier Galligan, Camille Grant, and Daviana Robertson; nieces and nephews Robin, Felicia, Frankie, and Dustin; cousins Rosetta (Steve) Cooper and her family, the Duvall family; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings Robert Arnold Grant Jr., Frank Grant, and Deborah Grant; niece Luwanda Kay; and nephew Bobby Grant.
