Charles “Chuck” H. Lorensberg
Charles “Chuck” H. Lorensberg, 84, of Windfall, died early Monday morning, December 15, 2025, at Century Villa in Greentown. He was born in Webster, South Dakota, on April 11, 1941, to Carl and Hazel Lorensberg. Chuck married Polly J. Miller on July 5, 1968, spending more than 57 years in matrimony.
Chuck worked at Delco in Kokomo as an electrician. He and Polly attended Windfall Christian Church for many years. He was proud to be a member of the Masonic Lodge for more than 50 years. Chuck enjoyed hunting and fishing, taking trips back to South Dakota where he grew up. He was very skillful with his hands as he created many custom knives from various woods and metals. His sports focus was on the I.U. basketball team, and he was an avid fan of the Colts and Vikings football teams.
Chuck served his county in the Navy and had served as Post Commander of the American Legion in the past. Many memories were made over several years as Chuck and Polly would winter in Holiday, Florida.
Survivors include his wife Polly, daughter Tara York, and granddaughters Ravin and Danin York. Siblings include his sisters Arlette and Vonnie. Chuck was preceded in death by his sisters Dolly and Leona, and a brother Gene.
Funeral services will be on Friday, December 19, at 11:00 a.m. at the Windfall Christian Church with Rev. Josh Borum presiding. Burial with military rites will follow at Brookside Cemetery. Visitation will also be at the church on Friday beginning at 10:00 a.m.

James F. “Jim” Smith
James F. “Jim” Smith, 96, Kokomo, passed away at 1:00 a.m., Friday, December 12, 2025, at his home. He was born March 2, 1929, in Grant County, Indiana, the son of the late Franklin & Lula (Beach) Smith.
Jim was a 1947 graduate of Windfall High School. As a small child, Jim learned about Jesus by attending New Hope Church in Phlox, and then later in life at the age of 25 he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior and was baptized in the Windfall Christian Church where he was a member and active elder for over 20 years. His most important priority was making sure he took his two daughters to Sunday school and church and taught them about Jesus.
In 1972, he met the love of his life Janet (Maple) Smith, and they were married August 2, 1972. He and Janet then became active members of the Methodist Church in Greentown for 48 years. They worked side-by-side in their farming business (Poppin Acres) and grew popcorn for Orville Redenbacher, along with growing soybeans and corn. Jim was a farmer for more than 40 years and retired at the age of 60. The first year he and Janet retired, they spent the school year volunteering at Johnson Bible college in Knoxville, Tennessee. He and Janet continued enjoying their winters in Florida playing golf and then also traveled extensively to other parts of the world. When asked where his favorite trip was, he would always say when they visited the Holy Land, and he was baptized again in the Jordan River.
Jim would always tell you he had a wonderful life, and God blessed him in many ways. He never knew a stranger, and he shared his faith through his actions and kindness. After the love of his life passed away, he met a wonderful lady who brought him much companionship and joy over the past five years, Nancy Holderman.
Jim is survived by his children Renee (Randy) Waddell and Jamie (Rick) Shuck; stepdaughter Jackie Kowalski; grandchildren Eric (April) Mathis, Wendy Loria, Shelley Mathis, Bryan (Ana) Mitzelfelt, and Brad (Cassandra) Mitzelfelt; step-grandchildren Jalyn Kowalski and Jerran Kowalski; great-grandchildren Nathan Mathis, Lillie Mathis, Max Loria, Luke Loria, Carly Buettner, Annie Buettner, Hudson Mitzlefelt, Amelia Mitzelfelt, and Francis Mitzelfelt; sister Dortha Lord; and special friend,Nancy Holderman.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; wife Janet; grandson Craig Shuck; siblings Hazel (Lawrence) Ray, Levon (Wanita) Smith, Lucille Conway, Armetha (Bob) Griffin, and Maxine (Rex) Gentis; and brother-in-law Frank Lord.
A funeral service will be held at noon, Friday, December 19, 2025, at Abundant Life Church, Life Center, 1025 E. 400 S, Kokomo, with Pastor Charlie Riley officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery in Phlox. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10 a.m. until time of service Friday at the church. Clyde Davis Jr.
Clyde Davis Jr., 75 years old, of Kokomo, passed away 10:49 a.m., Monday, December 15, 2025, at Kokomo Health Care Center. He was born in Muncie, IN, on February 27, 1950, the son of the late Clyde Davis Sr. and Edith (Bivens) Davis.
Clyde attended Washington School Systems while growing up. He was a gifted and talented piano and guitar player. He was known as “The Professor” by his bandmates and colleagues. He was a founder of the Too Tall Band and most recently played for the Right Turn Band. He exhibited his artistic abilities by drawing and painting. He was fascinated with classic Corvettes and other hot rods. Clyde was well known for participating in the Roller Pigeon and racing Pigeons communities. He was a member of the Howard County Roller Club.
He is survived by his children Carla Cole, Clyde (Christy) Davis III, and Robbin (Heath) Ezell; siblings Bobbie (Roy) Boothe, Kathy Davis, and Angela (Kevin) Cardwell; grandchildren Jayden Davis, Trower Davis, Alli Davis, Zane Davis, Morriah Ezell, and Austin Ezell; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Edith and Clyde Davis Sr.; son Christian Cole; and brother Doyle Davis.

James “Jim” Michael McCormack
James “Jim” Michael McCormack, 82 years old, passed away Sunday, December 14, 2025, at his home in Russiaville, IN. He was born in New Castle, IN, on April 25, 1943, the son of the late James Harold and Alice Elizabeth (Hawkins) McCormack. On December 22, 1960, he married Patricia V. Burnette, and she preceded him in death on June 30, 2021.
Jim proudly served our country in the United States Air Force. He served for 30 years as a machine operator at Chrysler until his retirement. He had a great sense of humor. He was a creature of habit. Jim liked listening to music of all genres, vegetable gardening, and time spent on his laptop, watching TV, and reading the newspaper.
Jim is survived by his children Anita McCormack, Kelly (Joann Lloyd) McCormack, and Curtis McCormack; grandchildren Elizabeth (Thomas) Carlisle, John-Michael McCormack, Kerrigan (Garrett Dennis) McCormack, Tessa McCormack, and Daylon (Junior) Tyre; sisters Linda McCormack and Roberta McCormack; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was also preceded in death by his parents James and Alice McCormack; daughter-in-law, Sandra McCormack; and siblings Donna Strayer and David McCormack.

Joyce Ann Johnston
Joyce Ann Johnston, 68, of Greentown, passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Community Howard Regional Health Hospital in Kokomo. She was born June 25, 1957, in Kokomo, the daughter of the late Robert and Erma (Dowden) Graf.
Joyce was a 1975 graduate of Haworth High School. She retired as a cook after 15 years of service. Joyce was a member of UAW Local 685. She enjoyed gardening, making stained glass, cross-stitching, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Joyce is survived by her children Jeremy Johnston and Traci (Travis Farris) Johnston; grandchildren Bailey Horoho, Cori Johnston, Harley Lawrence, Dakota (Christine Arnet) Lawrence, Tyler Johnston, Rachael Johnston, and Emily Johnston; step-grandchildren Jayden Roberts-Jameson and Dakota Roberts; great-grandchildren Serenity Brown and Oakleigh Lawrence; siblings Bob (Donna) Graf and Ron (Laurie Cameron) Graf; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her brother Tim Graf.
