James Riley “Jim” McKinney

James Riley “Jim” McKinney, 75, Kokomo, passed away Monday, January 19, 2026, at his home surrounded by loved ones. He was born June 25, 1950, in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of the late Ernest McKinney & Margaret (Shepherd) Hatter. On August 12, 1989, in Kokomo, he married Donna Hoover, and she survives.

A proud veteran, devoted family man, and lifelong car enthusiast, Jim lived a life marked by service, dedication, and a deep appreciation for the things he loved.

Jim was a graduate of Southeast Polk High School. He later pursued his passion for mechanics by earning an associate degree from Ivy Tech Community College. His mechanical aptitude and strong work ethic led him to a long and successful career with General Motors, where he worked for 30 years before retiring. During his time there, he was an active member of UAW Local #292.

Jim served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps from 1968 to 1972. He completed a tour in Vietnam and rose to the rank of Sergeant. His military service was recognized with numerous commendations including the Combat Action Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Republic of Vietnam Meritorious Unit Commendation, and the Navy Achievement Medal. He remained deeply connected to his fellow veterans as a lifetime member of the Howard County Vietnam Veterans Organization (HCVVO).

A man of faith, Jim was a member of Abundant Life Church in Kokomo. His spiritual life provided him with strength and community throughout the years.

Jim had a lifelong love for cars—especially those with dual exhaust—and proudly owned several classic vehicles including a 1950 Chevy, a 1970 flatbed truck, and a 1967 Chevy Impala. He was also an avid NASCAR fan who especially admired Dale Earnhardt Jr., finding joy in the roar of engines and the thrill of the race.

Along with his loving wife Donna, Jim is also survived by his children Angela (Tim) McQuinn and Donavon McKinney; stepchildren Stacey White and Jamie White (fiancée Hope Lowe); grandchildren Brandon (Angelica) Dillon, Darren Dillon (fiancée Sidney Fisher), Kai McKinney, and Kayley McKinney; step-grandchildren Bailey (Trent) Brown, Madisyn White, and Malorey White; great-grandchildren Jevontae, JaKai, Trent Jr., Brinley, and baby Dillon due in June; sister-in-law Lillian Merideth; brother-in-law Don Current; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved labradoodle Zoey.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; siblings Joseph Merideth and Nancy Myers; his goldendoodle Maggie; and his Manx cat Simon.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 23, 2026, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo, with Pastor Toph Elkins officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery with military honors provided by the United States Marine Corps and the Kokomo VFW Military Rites Team. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 11:00 a.m. until time of service Friday at the funeral home. Kathleen “Kathey” Ann Robertson

Kathleen “Kathey” Ann Robertson, 81, Greentown, passed away at 5:15 a.m. on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at Century Villa Heath Care. She was born June 29, 1944, in Kokomo, the daughter of the late Warren and Norma “Jean” (Pickering) Girton. On September 16, 1962, she married George “David” Robertson, and he survives.

Kathey was a 1962 graduate of Kokomo High School. She retired from Key Bank, formerly Union Bank, on September 30, 1998, after 25 years of being a branch manager of the Cicero branch of Key Bank. Kathey was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and of the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed golfing and was infatuated with genealogy.

In addition to her husband David, Kathey is survived by her children William (Kim) Robertson and Patrick (Jackie) Robertson; grandchildren Renee (Blayne) Burkholder, Stephanie (Matthew) Miller, Cameron Robertson, and Jenna (fiancé Jacob Hiatt) Robertson; great-grandchildren Boston, Brenna, and Baylor Burkholder, Lincoln, Oran, and Callen Miller; and siblings Dave (Elisabeth) Girton and Chris (Mike) Simpson.

Kathey was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Richard Girton and Debbie Barnett; niece Tammy Barnett; and nephew Travis Simpson.

A funeral service celebrating Kathey’s life will take place at 12 p.m. Saturday, January 24, 2026, at Hasler & Stout Funeral Home, 112 E. Main Street, Greentown, with Pastor Steve Archer and grandson Cameron Robertson officiating. Burial will follow in Albright Cemetery. Wilma J. Dennis

Wilma J. Dennis, 95, passed away on January 18, 2026, at Wellbrooke of Kokomo. She was born December 4, 1930, in Wabash, Indiana, to the late Claude and Helen Hettmansperger.

Wilma’s life was marked by her dedication to both family and community. She married Richard Dennis on April 23, 1950, and together they cherished their family, especially their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her career path included roles as a telephone operator and working at Dad’s Deli.

Her personal interests were as diverse as they were engaging. Wilma found joy during her youth in roller skating, line dancing, and gardening. Her most favorite thing was growing and selling pumpkins during the Fall season. She was always known as the “Pumpkin Lady” on Alto Road. Supporting the Colts football team and cheering for IU basketball were among her favorite pastimes. Wilma also cherished the Christmas season. It was nothing for her to be up at 4:00 a.m. to go Christmas shopping for her grandchildren to make sure they received the perfect gift.

Wilma was a past member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, where she contributed to her community with the same passion she brought to all aspects of her life.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Richard Dennis; her infant daughter Brenda Renee Dennis; infant niece Laura Marie Hettmansperger; her brother Kenneth Hettmansperger; and her great-grandson Johnathan William Carl Lerche.

She is survived by her daughter Rhonda Beatty (Jay Fetters), grandchildren Jennifer Jack (Chris), Johnathan Lerche (Misty), and Allie Beatty, as well as great-grandchildren Nevaeh Jack, Tyler Jack, Zayne Lerche, Zakari Lerche, and Kayden Diaz. Wilma also leaves behind her brother Bob Hettmansperger (Chloe), her nephews Scott Hettmansperger (Michelle), and Mark Hettmansperger.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.

Visitation will be held at Ellers Mortuary, 3400 S. Webster Street, Kokomo, IN 46902, on January 26, 2026, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow at the same location starting at 1:00 p.m.

The final resting place will be Sunset Memory Garden Cemetery, located at 2097 W. Alto Road, Kokomo.



Donna Jean Yentes

Donna Jean Yentes, 96, of Urbana, Indiana, went to be with her Lord and Savior at 5:04 p.m., Monday, January 19, 2026, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was born on September 25, 1929, in Urbana, to Daniel Rupert and Bonnie Rhea (Baker) Monce.

Donna was a 1948 graduate of Urbana High School. She married Paul D. Yentes in Urbana on September 25, 1949. He died October 18, 1993. Donna was a supervisor at Cyclone Manufacturing for several years, retiring in 1990. She was a longtime member of the Grace United Methodist Church, now the Urbana Yoke Parish, where she served on several different church boards, was the Chairman of the Chancel Committee several years, and was also a trustee. Donna enjoyed needlework and yard work, but her passion was her family. Her children and all of her grandchildren were the light of her life.

She is survived by her four children Kathleen Forbes of Loves Park, Illinois, LuAnn Yentes (John) Wojtczak of Syracuse, Indiana, Tami (Eric) Overman of Wabash, and James (Susie) Yentes of Galveston, Indiana; daughter-in-law Erlene Yentes of Fort Wayne; 10 grandchildren Stacy (Michael) Mavec of Bloomington, Illinois, Jennifer (Matt) Buhrt of Warsaw, Indiana, Nathaniel (Lisa) Gage of Peru, Indiana, Joshua (Julio) Gage and Abi Harper, both of Fort Wayne, Melissa (Jeremy) Wolfe of Columbia City, Indiana, Megan (Todd) McKillip of Wabash, Jennifer (Ben) Godwin of Roann, Indiana, Hillary (Amanda) Cope of Angola, Indiana, and Isaac (Ashley) Yentes of Kokomo, Indiana; 14 great grandchildren Bailey Buhrt, Brenna Buhrt, Michael Mavec, Grace Mavec, Joshua Potts, Leah Potts, Isla Wolfe, Ella Wolfe, Ryker McKillip, Ridge McKillip, Mackenzie Harper, Henry Blair, Alice Godwin, and Josie Godwin; and great-great-granddaughter Paisley Potts. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Paul Douglas Yentes, and three brothers David Monce, DeWayne Monce, and her twin brother Donald Monce.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 26, 2026, at Urbana Yoke Parish, State Road 13, Urbana, Indiana, with Chris Brock officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call 2-5 p.m. Sunday, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash.

Raymond Kenneth Tetrault

Raymond Kenneth Tetrault, 68, of Kokomo, completed his earthly race and found rest in the presence of Jesus on January 19, at home, after a brief battle with cancer. He was born June 7, 1957, in Syracuse, NY. In 1980, Ray married Robin Fonda in Baldwinsville, NY, at the Wesleyan church where they met and served together.

He pastored Grace Fellowship Church for more than 25 years and had served as Men’s Chaplain at the Kokomo Rescue Mission. Ray was very involved in the running community, having served as president, vice president, and chaplain of Club Kokomo Roadrunners. He launched Coyote Kids in 2004, a summer running program for kids of all ages, and the program still continues today. In recent years, he was a track and cross-country coach for Western Schools and a track coach for Kokomo Schools. He enjoyed working with his hands, remodeling homes, fixing cars, and performing magic tricks for friends and family. He was a pizza connoisseur and had perfected his dough recipe over the years, making “Ray’s Pizza,” a favorite meal for all who tried it.

Ray was a follower of Jesus and a true student of the Bible. He loved serving others with the grace and patience he so often preached about. He was the epitome of a good and faithful servant, who lovingly accepted and welcomed people from all walks and backgrounds.

Ray attended high school in Baldwinsville, NY, and graduated from Seminary of the East with a Master of Divinity.

He is survived by his loving wife Robin, of Kokomo, and their six children: Michelle (Jonathan) Tyson, Melissa (Jon) Polk, Michael (Autumn) Tetrault, Megan (Ian) McKay, Matthew (Tiffany) Tetrault, and Melinda Hall, and their 15 grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers Rick Tetrault and Roger Tetrault and his sisters Tish Evans and Tami Magnus. He was preceded in death by his father Harold Tetrault and stepmother Marion Tetrault, and his mother Doris Brink and stepfather Carl Brink.

Calling hours will be held at Grace Fellowship Church, 2700 S. Park Road, Kokomo, IN on Friday, January 30, from 12-3 p.m. and 5-7 p.m.

Sue Ann Mannion

Sue Ann Mannion, 91, of Kokomo, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2026, at Wellbrooke of Kokomo. She was born on October 2, 1934, the daughter of H. Alva and Gladys Opal (Smelser) Edwards. On July 30, 1955, Sue married James E. “Jim” Mannion in Kokomo, and he preceded her in death on June 21, 1997.

Sue was a 1952 graduate of Kokomo High School. She worked in Human Resources for the City of Kokomo for 29 years, and before that she worked at Delco Electronics. Sue was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, especially flowers, and spending time with family.

Sue is survived by her children Mark Mannion, Michael Mannion, and Jeffrey Mannion; grandchildren Shanna (Luke) Albright, Marla Smith, and Kaci Wray; great-grandchildren Tre Hamilton and Brahm Wray; sister-in-law Sister Jane Frances; brother-in-law Fr. John Mannion; niece Ashley (Erik) Dirks; and great-nephews Jakob Dirks and Eli Dirks.

Along with her husband Jim Mannion, she was preceded in death by her parents H. Alva and Opal Edwards.

Private services will take place at a later date following with burial in Albright Cemetery. Nicole Lynn Horn

Nicole Lynn Horn, 42, Kokomo, passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at her home. She was born on September 21, 1983, in Kokomo, the daughter of Michael and Terry (Wagner) Grider. On May 21, 2015, she married Dakota J. Horn in Tippecanoe County, and he loved her very much.

Nicole was a 2002 graduate of Kokomo High School. She worked for Red Gold for the previous three years. Nicole absolutely loved her dog Atticus and Aleister the cat. She was a wonderful daughter and a friend to many.

In addition to her husband Dakota, Nicole is survived by her parents Michael and Terry Grider; grandmother Shirley Wagner; along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Nicole was preceded in death by her brother Michael James Grider; paternal grandparents Albert & Pansy Grider; and maternal grandfather James Wagner.

No services will take place at this time. Cremation has been entrusted to Shirley & Stout Funeral Home.



Larry Eugene Nelson

Larry Eugene Nelson, 74, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 26, 1951, to his parents William “Bill” Nelson and Martha Merrill Nelson. Larry was a 1969 graduate of Tipton High School. Soon after graduating, Larry began working with the railroad and continued until he retired in 2011.

Larry was a simple guy, easygoing and dependable for his loved ones. Family always came first to Larry! He was famous for his one-liners, and he never missed an opportunity to make others laugh with his quick, sarcastic wit. In all areas of life Larry appreciated quality and believed in doing things the right way.

Larry loved music and passed that appreciation on to his children. He was also an avid collector of baseball memorabilia. Larry did enjoy watching IU basketball and Colts football, but baseball was his favorite. Through the years, Larry took his kids and grandkids to many professional baseball games. He, of course, also loved watching them play ball on their teams. He never missed a game or activity that they were involved in. Later in life, Larry had the privilege of becoming a great-grandfather, and that was a job that brought him pure joy!

Larry was precious to his family! He will be remembered for his humor, his honesty, and the quiet way he brought people together and made them feel loved and supported.

Those left to carry on Larry’s legacy of love are his children Jason (Laurie) Nelson and Amanda (JR) Tuttle; grandchildren Sierra Nelson (Nick Holler), Brendyn (Katie) Nelson, Camden Nelson (Taylor Vautaw), and Korbin Nelson; great-granddaughter Irelyn Nelson; a great-grandson (due to arrive in May); sister-in-law Vickie Nelson; aunt Rosa Cleary; uncle Ed Merrill; and nephews Nathan (Kristina) Nelson and David Nelson.

Larry was welcomed into Heaven by his parents Bill and Martha Nelson and brother Mike Nelson.

A celebration of life service will be held in the Spring.

John W. Hambaugh Jr.

John W. Hambaugh Jr., 77, of Kokomo, passed away at 4:43 a.m., Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Community Howard Regional Hospital in Kokomo. He was born on July 16, 1948, the son of John Hambaugh Sr. and Jeanette Shelton.

John was a welder at Jeffboat for about 15 years. He enjoyed playing music in his “Family Band.” John also enjoyed playing video games, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren.

John is survived by his children John (Holly Abney) Hambaugh III; grandchildren James Hambaugh and Arya Abney; siblings Monna Bouchey, Cindy Bouchey, and Sandy Bouchey; and good friends Mike & Michelle King.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Jacob Hambaugh, and brothers Rick Hambaugh and Wayne Hambaugh.
