Toneita Mae Salsbery-Calvin

Toneita Mae Salsbery-Calvin, 89, of Tipton, Indiana, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2026, at The Waters of Tipton, surrounded by the love and legacy of her family. She was born on March 29, 1937, in Tipton, Indiana, to her parents Steven W. Salsbery and Marjorie (Illges) Salsbery.

A proud graduate of Tipton High School, Class of 1955, Toneita carried her strong work ethic and determination into a lifelong career at Tipton Hospital. Working in medical records, she became known not only for her dedication but for her exceptional skill and reliability. One physician recognized her potential early on and asked her to join his team by keeping his medical records, a decision that would shape her career. Through her hard work and reputation for excellence, many doctors specifically requested her to oversee their records, a testament to the trust and respect she earned throughout her years of service. She retired in May of 1989.

Toneita was deeply rooted in her community and gave her time generously. She was a proud member of the Red Hat Society, Eastern Star, Home Ec. Club, and 4-H, and she also served on the board of Farm Bureau, Inc. Her involvement reflected her love for people and her desire to make a meaningful difference in the lives around her.

She was truly one of a kind; strong, capable, and never afraid to take charge when something needed done. Toneita had a presence that was both commanding and comforting. She was a devoted and loving mother, a guiding light to her family, and a steady source of strength. To her daughter, she was nothing short of a saint. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

Outside of her many responsibilities, Toneita had a fun and spirited side. She was an avid shoe collector, always enjoying adding a new pair to her collection, a small but meaningful reflection of her vibrant personality.

Those left to carry on her legacy of love are her children Mark (Terri) Calvin, Mick (Barb) Calvin, and Julianne Calvin; her grandchildren Angela (Scott) Brumley, William Kemper, Coty (Brittani) Calvin, Amy (Shane) Mendenhall, Amanda (Tyler) Wilson, Eli Brotherton, Emmajae Brotherton, and Vincent (Brittney) Calvin; 14 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews who will all carry forward her legacy of strength, love, and dedication.

Toneita was welcomed into Heaven by her parents; her brother Stephen Salsbery; and her beloved daughter Yolonda Kaye Kemper.

Toneita’s life was one of service, strength, and unwavering love. She leaves behind a family built on her foundation and a community better for having known her. Her memory will live on in the countless lives she touched.

A funeral service celebrating Toneita’s life will take place on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Taylor & Cowan Funeral Home, located at 314 N. Main St. in Tipton. Visitation for family & friends will be held prior to the service from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will take place immediately following the service at Tipton’s Fairview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages those who wish to honor Toneita’s life to make a donation to the Tipton County Foundation, a local church, or a meaningful charity of your choosing.

Ronald Lee Mygrant

Ronald Lee Mygrant, 88, of Kokomo, passed away at 1:44 p.m., Friday, April 3, 2026, in his home. He was born on March 18, 1938, the son of Ralph James and Wilma Lucille (Sommers) Mygrant. On December 7, 1961, he married Betty Louise Jones, and she preceded him in death on January 30, 2018.

Ronald was a graduate of Converse High School. He worked in heat treat at the Chrysler Transmission Plant. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church and the Converse Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed woodworking and making furniture. Ron enjoyed traveling and spending time in their condo in Florida. Ron served in the United States Marine Corps from September 24, 1957, to September 22, 1961.

Ronald is survived by his children Beryl (Larry) Kendall of Greentown, Bonnie Erlbeck of Kokomo, and Rhonda Mygrant and her caregiver Pam Bartley of Crawfordsville; grandchildren Ralph Wilson, Christian Wilson, Kimberly and Brian Alan Miller, Thomas Michael Johnston II, Lucinda Rothrauff, Gabriel Ellis, Joshua (Tori) Campbell, James Lucas Campbell, and Sarah Campbell; step-grandchildren Tim (Jodi) Kendall and Jason (Heather) Kendall; great-grandchildren Sydney Miller, Payton Miller, Tory Johnston, Sawyer Johnston, Oliver Johnston, Quirstin and Thomas Gene Yeary, Mallory Rothrauff, Lucie and Brock Spencer, Bianca Flamino, Tyleigh McWhirt, Breanne Ellis, Jerry Phipps, Haley Tinder, ShyAnn Tomlinson, Kaiden Thompson, Aryan Ellis, Gabriella Ellis, Jace Miller, Kyersten (Dakota) Warrick, Kelsi Campbell, Lillian Campbell, Kylan Campbell, Aryanne Campbell, Zayne Campbell, Valic Campbell, and Severin Campbell; step-great-grandchildren Ashleigh Kendall, Cody Anthony, Liam Kendall, Lily Kendall, Trevor Kendall, Julian Harmon, Allana Gentner, Alea Gentner, and Makala Harmon; 22 great-great-grandchildren; and siblings Keith Mygrant and Dave Mygrant.

Along with his wife Betty, he was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Lucille Mygrant; son Lucas (Dianne) Erlbeck; daughter Trudy Erlbeck; great-grandchild Bryann Ellis; and siblings Larry Mygrant and Darl Mygrant.

A funeral service celebrating Ronald’s life will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, April 9, 2026, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo, IN. Burial will follow in Albright Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 12 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Carolyn S. “Sue” Fox

Carolyn S. “Sue” Fox (formerly Smith and Larson), age 88, passed away on April 5, 2026, in Kokomo, Indiana. A Tipton native who called Anderson home for decades, Sue eventually returned to her roots in Tipton for her final years. She was a woman of deep faith, tireless curiosity, and an unwavering devotion to her family.

Born February 15, 1938, in Tipton to Hugh and Lena (Meyer) Smith, Sue was the oldest of five children and learned early on the importance of family and hard work. After graduating from Tipton High School in 1956, she embarked on a lifelong pursuit of knowledge, earning her Bachelor’s degree from Purdue University and a Master’s degree from Ball State University.

Sue dedicated her career to the education of others, teaching the entire county how to sew at Tipton Middle School. Her passion for the classroom never truly faded; she continued to serve as a substitute teacher well into her 80s, impacting generations of students.

Family meant everything to Sue, and being a mom and grandma were her absolute favorite roles. She loved gathering the family any chance she could get. Sue remarried later in life to Richard Fox of Anderson. They spent many years traveling and participating in engine shows until his passing in 2007. Following his death, Sue embraced her “travel bug” with renewed vigor. Her adventures took her across the United States and to six continents. More importantly, she used her travels to serve the Lord, participating in mission work in both Africa and India. When she wasn’t globe-trotting, Sue was a fixture in her community. She was an active member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, Madison County Extension Homemakers, Tipton County Retired Teachers Association, and Sigma Kappa Sorority.

In her downtime, she could be found gardening, quilting, hunting for treasures at garage sales, or tending to her cats. A devoted Purdue Boilermaker, Sue was known for giving her signature “double thumbs up” to anyone she spotted wearing the old gold and black.

Sue is survived by her siblings: Steve (Elsa) Smith, Peggy (Bob) Bierer, and Linda (Jim) Caylor; her three children: Melanie Larson, Jim (Kathy) Larson, and Lory (Michael) Tulley; and her beloved grandchildren: Adam Etheridge, Andy (Amy) Chilafoe, Sarah “Sally Belle” Chilafoe, Kyle (Alexy) Etheridge, and Katrina “Katie Lou” Larson. She also leaves behind several precious great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Hugh and Lena Smith; her husband Richard Fox; her sister Jane Faller; and her granddaughter Jaclyn Larson.

Sue’s funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 11, at the Emanuel Lutheran Church, with Rev Dr. Robb Roloff presiding, and burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 10, from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service, all at the church.

Cathy Jo Steely

Cathy Jo Steely, 76, of Amboy, passed away at 4:00 A.M., Sunday, April 5, 2026. She was born in Kokomo, IN, on July 13, 1949, the daughter of Virgil and Catherine (Helsley) Oldaker. Cathy married Albert L. Steely, and he preceded her in death on January 13, 2025.

Cathy was a graduate of Northwestern High School. Her love of domestic life showed in her detailed care she gave to family and friends; she was especially devoted to her grandkids. Cathy’s “green thumb” revealed itself in her gardens and all the produce she canned. She enjoyed BINGO and scrapbooking and the family fishing trips at Mississinewa.

Surviving is a son Brad Steely of Ft. Wayne; grandchildren Carter (Sophie) Steely, Tucker Steely, and Braden Steely; and siblings Dave Oldaker of Kokomo and Lori Henninge of Florida. Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister Marcia Nichols, and a brother Tim Oldaker.

A service celebrating the life of Cathy Jo Steely will be held at 1:00 P.M., Sunday, April 12, 2026, at the Laird-Eddy Funeral Home, 201 N. Main St., Amboy, IN, with her son Brad Steely officiating. Family and friends will gather from 12:00 to 1:00 P.M. Sunday at the Laird-Eddy Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made through the funeral home to the Alzheimer’s Association.



Kathleen Ann (Walker) Crone

Kathleen Ann (Walker) Crone, 86, Kokomo, passed on March 25, 2026, in her home. She was born March 16, 1940, in Kokomo, the daughter of Phyllis (Flynn) and George Walker. On September 2, 1961, she married Michael Crone.

Kathleen graduated from the St. Joseph Academy in 1958. She was a homemaker, mother, and grandmother. In her early days, she spent her time raising her daughters. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and crafting. She was also an avid animal lover. During her time as a homemaker, she ran her own business, making items for friends, family, and those in the community. She worked as a lunch lady at Wallace School while her daughters were growing up and then as a receptionist for Family Chiropractic. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. She enjoyed reading in her spare time.

Kathleen is survived by her three daughters Renée (Chris) Kinney, Michelle Crone, and Andrea (Michael) Mason; her grandchildren Kathryn “Katie” Berry, Jordan Owens, Ezra Berry, Sydney McIlrath, Nolan Mason, Dalton Berry, and Colin Mason; great-grandchildren Olivia and Freya Owens; and multiple siblings.

She was preceded in death by her parents Phyllis and George Walker; and husband Michael in February of 2025.

She will be interred at Sunset Memory Garden. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, April 12, from 1-3 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus, 1631 Foxfire Lane, Kokomo, IN 46902 for friends and family to remember Kathleen and her husband Mike. Patty Lou Myers

Patty Lou Myers, 76, of Kokomo, Indiana, passed away on April 3, 2026, in Kokomo, Indiana. She was born on February 5, 1950, in Kokomo, Indiana, to the late William and Irene Busch.

Patty was a loving, generous, and courageous woman whose life was centered on family, hard work, and the simple joys that made each day meaningful. She graduated from Kokomo High School and later attended Ivy Tech, carrying with her a lifelong appreciation for learning and growth. Patty devoted much of her life to caring for others, both as a homemaker and through her work as a cook for Korner Kitchen. She was known for her dependable nature, warm spirit, and the kindness she extended to everyone around her.

Those who knew Patty will remember her for her amazing laugh and her wonderful sense of humor. She had a way of bringing comfort and light to those in her presence, and her cheerful personality left a lasting impression on family and friends alike. Patty found joy in the everyday things that made a house feel like home. She loved gardening, cherished flowers, and enjoyed spending time scrapbooking, preserving memories that reflected the love she held for her family and the life she built with care.

Family was the heart of Patty’s world. She is survived by her companion Russell Warren Jr.; her children Danette Thomas and her husband Michael Brennan, Starla Hileman and her husband Jason, and Jeremiah Warren and his wife Cindy Studebaker; her brothers Jerry Busch and his wife Darlene, Jimmy Busch and his wife Sandra, and Danny Busch; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought her great pride and happiness. Her grandchildren include Amber Tom, Autumn Tom and her husband Corey Cook Jr., Ashten Oldham, Quintin Thompson and his wife Christa Elliot, and Sebastin Thompson and his wife Olivia Doud. Her great-grandchildren include Silas Thompson, Sabian Thompson, Kayden Thompson, and Pasley Thompson. She also leaves behind her beloved dog Petey, who was a cherished companion.

Patty was preceded in death by her parents William and Irene Busch; her sister Janet Taylor, Jeannette Eads, and Shirley Busch; and her brother Johnny Busch. Though her passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of those who loved her, her memory will continue to live on through the many lives she touched with her love, strength, and laughter.

Patty Lou Myers will be remembered for the devotion she showed to her family, the pride she took in her work, and the gentle, steadfast way she lived her life. Her legacy is one of love, generosity, and courage, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the blessing of knowing her.

Donna Pauline Lloyd

Donna Pauline Lloyd, 82, of Kokomo, Indiana, passed away on April 1, 2026. She was born on November 20, 1943, in Matthews, Indiana, to Donald “Doc” and Dorothy Holmes. Donna lived a life marked by love, kindness, and thoughtfulness, and she will be remembered by all who knew her for the gentle way she cared for others and the steady strength she brought to her family.

Donna graduated from high school in Matthews, Indiana, and carried the values of her hometown with her throughout her life. She worked as a home health aide and a factory worker, and she was also a loving housewife who devoted herself to the well-being of her home and family. In every role she held, Donna gave her best with a quiet dedication that reflected her generous spirit. Her life was one of service, hard work, and devotion, and she took great pride in the people she loved and the life she built.

Family was at the center of Donna’s world. She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Dorothy Holmes, her husband Gene Lloyd, with whom she shared nearly 50 wonderful years of marriage, and her sons Larry Lloyd and Jerry Cohen. Though she experienced deep loss in her lifetime, she remained a source of comfort and love to those around her. She is survived by her sons Rex Lloyd and his wife Julie, and Jeff Lloyd and his wife Shellie, along with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and her sister Jaquetta Kindler and her husband Charles. Donna’s family was a great blessing to her, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

Donna found joy in the simple and meaningful pleasures of life. She enjoyed crocheting and diamond painting, and she took great satisfaction in spending time with her beloved animals, including her goat Bandit, her dog Daisy, and her bird Milo. She also loved planting flowers in her garden and spending time at the lake house, where she could relax and enjoy the peace of the water and the company of those she loved. These interests brought her happiness and reflected the warmth and creativity that were such a natural part of who she was.

Those who knew Donna will remember her as a loving, kind, and thoughtful woman whose presence brought comfort and light. She had a way of making others feel cared for and valued, and her memory will remain a treasured part of the lives she touched. Her life was a beautiful example of devotion to family, quiet perseverance, and enduring love. Though she will be deeply missed, the legacy of her kindness and the many memories she created will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
