Martha Louise Creason (Schimmel), Anne Helen Grant, Donald Dean Abney, Ernest Steven Wolfe

Martha Louise Creason (Schimmel)

Martha Louise Creason (Schimmel), age 94, of Kokomo, Indiana, passed away peacefully on April 25, 2026. She was born on March 22, 1932, in Frankfort, Indiana.

Martha was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She married the love of her life Lester Creason on March 25, 1951, and together they shared 75 years of marriage, a remarkable milestone and a testament to their enduring love and commitment.

She is survived by her husband Lester Creason; her children Cindy (Clay) Shores, Linda Janota, Brenda (Gary) Hays, and Michael (Phyllis) Creason; her grandchildren Patrick Miller, Tricia (Shores) Robitaille, Jennifer (Creason) Tracy, Brittney (Janota) Jones, and Michael Hays; along with many beloved step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, and step-great-great-grandchildren, as well as a large and loving extended family, including nieces and nephews.

Martha worked for approximately 10 years in the lunchroom at Haworth High School in Kokomo, where she enjoyed serving students and being part of the school community.

Martha was a woman of strong Christian faith, known for her intelligence, kindness, and caring nature. She took great pride in caring for her home and family, and she especially cherished her grandchildren, finding great joy in their lives and accomplishments.

She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, her son-in-law Chris Janota, and grandson Joseph Shores.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to her caregiver Kristy Hays for the compassion and care she provided during the final few years of Martha’s life.

A funeral service celebrating Martha’s life will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, April 30, 2026, at Shiloh United Methodist Church, 5741 W, 100 N, Kokomo, IN 46901 with Pastor Joe Johnson officiating. Burial in Shiloh Cemetery will follow. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at the church. Anne Helen Grant

Anne Helen Grant, 64, Greentown, passed away at 9:56 p.m. Friday, April 24, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born November 15, 1961, in Tipton to Charles Henry Holman Jr. and Marilyn Sue (Fisher) Holman. She was lucky enough to have two true loves. She married Keith Hochstedler on October 24, 1981. He preceded her in death in 2006. On September 3, 2010, she married Barry Grant, who survives. Love had always been an important part of her life, from losing her first husband at a young age who she created a loving family with to finding her second husband. She and Barry continued sharing all of the love with children and grandchildren, continuing on with a legacy that already had solid roots from her years of hard work.

Anne earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Indiana University Kokomo and worked as a registered nurse for Community Howard Regional Health for 20 years, where she helped many people and made an impact on so many employees. She also was an avid researcher for cures for multiple sclerosis, a member of American Legion Auxiliary, Eastern Star, a former Girl Scout Leader, and her family’s biggest supporter.

She will be deeply missed by surviving family: her husband Barry Grant; children Reid (Khala) Hochstedler, Paige (Chris) Cramer, Barry E. (Evan) Grant, Ashton (Eric) Russow, and Shawn (Michelle) Hochstedler; grandchildren Grayson Hochstedler, Parker Hochstedler, Annie Cramer, Cece Cramer, Gabby Cramer, Ayden Brewer, Jacoby Grant, Adrian Grant, Grant Russow, Presleigh Russow, Quinlyn (Evan) Warden, and Asha (Cole) Braun; sister Marcie Duncan, brother Chris (Sue) Holman, sisters-in-law Martha (Darwin) Freeman and Lori (Brad) Nicholson; brother-in-law Andy (Natalie) Grant; and mother-in-law Margaret Ball.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years Keith Hochstedler; parents; siblings Shawn Holman, Jonelle Holman, and Charles Holman III; and a brother-in-law Donald Duncan.

Funeral services celebrating Anne’s life will be at 7:00 p.m. Friday, May 1, 2026, at Hasler & Stout Funeral Home, 112 East Main Street, Greentown. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00 p.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home. Donald Dean Abney

Donald Dean Abney, 95, of Salem, Illinois, passed away at Helia Healthcare of Salem on April 26, 2026.

He is survived by his wife Janice Abney of Salem, Illinois; son Michael (Teresa) Abney of Camby, Indiana; his grandchildren Chris (Kim) Abney of Georgetown, Indiana, Dustin (Savannah) Abney of Mooresville, Indiana, David (Shannon) Abney of Kokomo, Indiana, Brittney (Stan) Rice of Bryan, Ohio, and Shelly (Dj) Anton of Oxford, Indiana; many nieces and nephews; and 16 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents Jack and Mildred Abney; his brothers Ronald Roudebush, Harold Abney, and Joseph Abney; his children Sherry Abney, David Abney, and Patrick Abney; his grandchildren Kenneth Abney and Jeremy Abney.

Donald was born May 25, 1930, to Jack and Mildred Abney in Kokomo, Indiana. He joined the Army as a young man and deployed to Korea. He served from 1946-1949. He proudly wore his Korean veteran hat. Once he returned and fulfilled his time with the Army he married Joanne Mooney of Kokomo, Indiana, and became a father to his four children Sherry, Michael, Patrick, and David. However, that marriage would end in divorce.

In 1963, he found himself in Denver, Colorado, where he met a lovely woman named Janice Cyprian of Ft. Morgan, Colorado. They began their relationship soon after and were engaged in September of 1964. On January 18, 1966, they married in Ft. Morgan, Colorado and went on to celebrate 60 years of marriage.

He worked as a supervisor for World Color Press Salem Gravure in Salem, Illinois. He retired in 1991. This company blessed him with many years of service and memories that he recounted over the years.

During his many years, he found great fun in playing golf and tennis, going fishing, spending time with his family, attending church, coffee mornings with his buddies, nightly phone calls that would only last a minute or two, and watching his Westerns or his sports teams: IU basketball, St Louis Cardinals, and the Oakland Raiders.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Donald Abney will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Theresa of Avila Catholic Church with Father Jose Jacob officiating. Burial will follow at East Lawn Cemetery in Salem, with military rites by the Salem American Legion. There will be a visitation at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorial contributions can be made to Honor Flight Network or the St. Theresa Catholic Church parking lot fund and will be received at the church or at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem which is assisting the family with arrangements. Ernest Steven Wolfe

Ernest Steven Wolfe 84, of Kokomo, Indiana passed away April 26, 2026. He was born on October 13, 1941, in Frankfort, Indiana, the son of Ernest Edwin and Marjorie Kathleen (Daily) Wolfe. Steve worked at Chrysler for 40 years before retiring in 2000.

Steve enjoyed coaching sports, racing canoes, camping, fishing, and traveling. He was a member of Wildcat Canoe Club. He was an active member of Bon Air Nazarene Church. He was a very dedicated husband and family man.

Left to cherish his memory is his son Lance (Jennifer) Wolfe; grandchildren Foster Wolfe and Gage Wolfe; youngest son Michael (Raven) Wolfe; and siblings Gail Cantrell, Lily McCrea, Joy Labeau, Allen Wolfe, and Dawn Webb.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years Sondra Wolfe; parents; and brother David Wolfe.

Visitation will take place from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Ellers Mortuary & Cremation Center.
