Janet “Sue” Martin
Janet “Sue” Martin, 87, of Russiaville, passed away at 7:35 p.m. on Tuesday, August 25, 2026, at Bloom at Kokomo. She was born November 7, 1938, in Kokomo, Indiana, the daughter of Hubert G. and Marjorie E. (Richardson) Hightower. On August 11, 1957, she married Earl Robert “Bob” Martin at Courtland Avenue Friends Church in Kokomo, and he preceded her in death on October 10, 2016.
Sue was a 1957 graduate of Kokomo High School. She was a devoted homemaker who loved caring for her family and spending time with those she loved. She was a member of New London Friends Church and the Kokomo Shrine Club Women’s Guild. Sue enjoyed playing BINGO and dominoes and cherished the fellowship and friendships she built throughout her life.
Sue is survived by her children Deborah Martin, Jeff (Rose) Martin, Kim (Don) Markham, and Polly (Mark) Sowers; grandchildren Joshua (Cayla) Markham, Sarah (Josh) White, Adam (Staci) Sowers, Brandi Sowers, Andrew (Rebekah) Martin, Alexandra Martin, Eric (Johnna) Markham, Annalyssa (Drew) Overley, and Anastasia Martin; 12 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Jo Hightower; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Bob Martin; sister Carolyn Tunison and husband Gary; brother Thomas Hightower; and nieces Lynn and Carol.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 29, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home & Crematory, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo, with Pastor Jason Grant officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Garden. Friends are invited to visit with the family from noon until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.

Norma Jean Cochran
Norma Jean Cochran, 93, of Kokomo, Indiana, passed away on August 24, 2026, at her home. She was born on September 20, 1932, to Harry and Clara (Liston) Cochran in Tipton County, Indiana. Jean worked at General Motors for 35 years before retiring.
Jean loved volunteering at the Kokomo Rescue Mission Toy Donation Center for many years. Her volunteer work was a very important part of her life. She also volunteered at St. Joe and as a school bus driver for many years. Traveling was also important to Jean. Her adventures included Germany and Hawaii.
Left to cherish her memory are her nephews John Hale of Ft. Wayne and Chuck Cochran of Lafayette; niece Marlene Hale of Kokomo; great-nephew Mike Hale; friends Beverly Suddarth and Julie (Phil) Good of Kokomo; and honorary nieces and nephews Brian (Judy) Good, William Good, Rebecca (Andrew) Virnich, Beverly (Bill) Hapner, and Phillip Good.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings Gladys and Bill.

Jacqueline “Jackie” S. Kelly
Jacqueline “Jackie” S. Kelly, 78, of Kokomo, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, August 15, 2026, at Northwoods Village Nursing Home in Kokomo. She was born January 18, 1948, in Elwood, Indiana, to Chester and Thelma (DeWitt) Quick. On January 21, 1967, she married the love of her life David A. Kelly, and he preceded her in death on March 1, 2020.
Jacqueline worked as a bookkeeper in the welding/fabricating industry. She enjoyed all kinds of crafts, bowling, playing euchre, and catering. She was a member of Cassville United Methodist Church and the Northwestern Alumni Association. Jacqueline and David were heavily involved in the student foreign exchange program for many years. Jacqueline was an “honorary mom” for many students from several foreign countries throughout the world.
Surviving family include her children Lynette (Larry Deon) Wilson of Kokomo, Jennifer (Shannon) Mabry of Kokomo, and Scott Kelly of Kokomo. Surviving grandchildren include Jordan (Abby) Wilson, Courtney (Tyler) Howe, Hannah (Brandon) Carden, Cierra Wilson, Chelsea (Brayden) Nutter, Caleb Mabry, Tommy (Sequoyha) Lunsford, Bryson Mabry, Zachary DeFabritis, Susan Kelly, and David Kelly. Surviving great-grandchildren include Kristianna Bowman, Elliana Wilson, Abram Wilson, Eamon Bowman, Leah Howe, Blake Howe, Kimber Carden, Zedekiah Lunsford, Lunaria Wilson, Asher Howe, Briar Carden, and Beau Nutter. One sister also survives, Rhonda Tschudy of Kokomo. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband David.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, September 10, 2026, at Murray Weaver Funeral Home, with Pastor Norm Snyder officiating. Richard V. Bradley
When a fine person dies, we celebrate a life well-lived.
A brilliant mind has been dimmed. An outspoken man is now quiet.
The bones of his story; his parents Edward and Helen, his sisters Delores and Gloria, and his brother Ken helped create the man he became.
He grew up in Northwest Indiana and graduated from I.U. medical school. He was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. He was a member of the AMA and the Indiana State Medical Association. He served in the U.S. Army Medical Reserves.
Brad practiced medicine in Kokomo and later started the first full-time ER at Community Howard.
During his years of practice, he especially enjoyed delivering babies.
Brad loved his family with all his heart. He cherished his wife Janet and daughters Janet (Jim), Carol, and Laura (Doc). He was proud of his grandchildren Nicki (Arthur), Melissa, Vanessa (Alex), Mitchell (Ellen), and Haley (Neil); also, his great-granddaughters Sierra, Sophia, Anna, Hazel, Vera, Tilly, Etta, and Ruth.
He wished for them all much success and happiness.
He enjoyed fishing and gardening. He liked walking his dogs Mr. Fonz and Max. He looked forward each year to feeding the hummingbirds and watching eaglets hatch.
Brad treasured his trips to the Canadian north woods with Janet.
He had a life-long love of learning and was curious about most everything.
Brad would watch complicated programs on business or science and then laugh out loud at Eric, Stan, and Kyle on South Park.
He was a long-suffering Chicago White Sox fan. He enjoyed Notre Dame football, I.U. basketball and NASCAR. During the Winter Olympics, he developed a fascination with curling.
He had a deep belief in God about which he was very private.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.
He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and sister-in-law Joan.
Brad was an exceptional person who will be missed.
