Ruth Marie “Goat” Jordan

Ruth Marie “Goat” Jordan, 96, was granted her final birthday wish on August 28, 2026, just three days shy of her 97th birthday.

Born on August 31, 1929, in Centreville, Michigan, Ruth was the last surviving of seven children born to Eva and John Elmo Ford.

On February 17, 1948, Ruth married Glen A. Jordan. He preceded her in death exactly 14 years earlier, on August 28, 2012, after 64 wonderful years of marriage.

Ruth retired from Delco Electronics after 30 years, where she worked alongside many of her most cherished friends. Following her retirement, she volunteered for many years at St. Joseph and Howard Community hospitals. She enjoyed reading and watching Wheel of Fortune until her vision was taken by macular degeneration. Above all, Ruth cherished spending time with her family, who brought her the greatest joy.

Those left to carry on Ruth’s legacy include her daughter Teckla (Rick) Willoughby of Russiaville; grandchildren Tristy Wheeler of Lapel, Julie Willoughby and Amy Bortman of Lawrenceville, Georgia, Brian (Julie Smith) Glandon of Syracuse, Shawn (Rashelle) Bolinger of Fort Myers, Florida, Angel Knecht of Jonestown, Pennsylvania, and Jeremy Maikrzek of Houghton Lake, Michigan. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Carol Ford of Carnesville, Georgia; son-in-law Gary Maikrzek of Houghton Lake, Michigan; 15 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her siblings; her husband Glen; her daughters Tina Bolinger and Beckie Maikrzek; her granddaughters Erica Vollmers and Jessica Clements; and countless dear friends.

The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Compassus Hospice, especially “Preacher Man” Alan Rollins, for guiding Ruth through her final journey. Special thanks are also extended to the staff at The Crossings at Kokomo for the compassionate care they provided during Ruth’s time with them.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Ruth’s life and honor her final wishes on Tuesday, September 1, from 10:00 a.m. until noon at Ellers Mortuary & Crematory, 3400 S. Webster Street, Kokomo.

Entombment, where Ruth will be reunited with Glen, will follow immediately afterward at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home & Cemetery, 2097 W. Alto Road, Kokomo.

Linda S. Crail

Linda S. Crail, 82, of Russiaville, Indiana, passed away at 2:50 a.m. on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Kokomo. Born April 11, 1944, in Indianapolis, Linda was the daughter of J. Robert Ogle and Margaret (Rawlings) Ogle. She married Gerald Crail on June 1, 1962. He preceded her in death on April 8, 2008.

Linda worked for General Motors in Kokomo retiring in 1998 after 32 years of service.

She is survived by her son Keith (Jeanette Gordon) Crail; grandchildren Thomas (Jennifer) Crail, Victoria (Kyle) Bernard, and Nicholas (Amanda) Crail; great grandson Coltin Crail; and sister Leah Rains.

She was preceded in death by her husband Gerald; parents; brothers Robert Ogle and John Ogle; and a sister Mary Crawford.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at Stout & Son Funeral Home, 200 East Main Street, Russiaville, IN, with an Eastern Star Service beginning at 2 p.m. A graveside service will follow at 3 p.m. at Crown View Cemetery, 4056 W. Martha Kay Armstrong

Martha Kay Armstrong, 89, of Greentown, passed away Tuesday August 25, 2026, at Century Fields. She was born March 27, 1937, in Moss, Tennessee, the daughter of Guy Harpe and Ida (Moss) Harpe. On January 8, 1955, Martha married Robert Thomas Armstrong in Tipton, Indiana. He preceded her in death on April 24, 2009.

A devoted homemaker and a godly woman, Martha treasured her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, playing cards and board games, and cheering for the Indiana Pacers.

Survivors include her children David Armstrong, Donald (Jodie) Armstrong, and Kim (Todd Mayfield) Land; grandchildren Zachary (Kristin) Armstrong, Matt (Jan) Armstrong, Danielle (Drew) Botteron, Kyle Land, and Jimmy (Kelley) Land; eight great-grandchildren; and siblings James (Susan) Harpe and Mary Barker.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and siblings Benny Boles, Vallie Harpe, Alice Johnson, Lillian Karnes, Azalea Harpe, Robert Harpe, and Hilry Harpe.

The family extends its heartfelt thanks to Century Fields and Homefront Healthcare for the loving care they provided Martha.

A funeral service celebrating Martha’s life will be held at 2 p.m., September 1, 2026, at Hasler & Stout Funeral Home, 112 East Main Street, Greentown, with John Ankrom officiating. Ruth Virginua (Slagle) Huckeby

Ruth Virginua (Slagle) Huckeby, 88, of New Castle, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loved ones, on the evening of Thursday, August 27, 2026.

She was born on December 10, 1937, in Monticello, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Robert Vincent Slagle and Edna (Dobbs) Turner.

Ruth attended Lewisville High School. She was a devoted homemaker, wife, and mother who lovingly raised her three children. She found joy in the simple things that made a house a home. Ruth loved shopping and collecting vintage dolls, along with a variety of other antique treasures. She enjoyed embroidery and stitch work and took great pride in her homemaking. She had a deep love for home economics and cooking and was happiest when caring for her family.

Ruth had an exceptional green thumb and loved planting and tending to her flowers and plants. She adored her dogs Gypsy and Cody, who brought her much happiness and companionship.

Ruth also took great pride in her appearance. She loved doing her hair and makeup and had a wonderful sense of style and fashion. It was important to her that everything matched perfectly, reflecting the care and attention to detail she brought to so many aspects of her life.

She married the love of her life Hurlen Dean Huckeby, and together they shared 67 wonderful years of marriage. They enjoyed traveling together, and Ruth especially loved exploring the West. Some of her happiest memories were made while traveling with Hurlen to spend time with family and visit their grandchildren. Above all, Ruth treasured the time she spent with the people she loved, creating memories that will be cherished for generations.

Those left to cherish Ruth’s memory include her daughter Kim Cox of New Castle; son David Huckeby of New Castle; six grandchildren Matt Schetgen of New Castle, Charissa (Casey) Robison of Las Vegas, NV, Kelli (Scott) Bradley of Whiteland, IN, Doug (Zoe) Huckeby of New Castle, Brandon Huckeby of Pensacola, FL and Shannon (Ashley) Huckeby of Kokomo, IN; 13 great-grandchildren Alyssa, Stevie, BJ and Bekkam Robison of Las Vegas, NV, Jalyn, Meghan, and Allyson Turlo of Whiteland, IN, Rees Schetgen of New Castle, Kennedy and Kenzie Huckeby of Kokomo, and Haven, Jaelynn, and Braxton Huckeby of Clearwater, FL; one great-great-grandson Bryson of Las Vegas; her brother Don (Saundra) Slagle of Colorado Springs, CO; a special niece Sonni Cross; and several other nieces, nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Hurlen Huckeby; a son Kevin Huckeby; a sister Irene Bertram; and a brother Ottis Slagle.

Graveside services will be held at South Mound Cemetery West Lawn Addition on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Paul Davis officiating.

Daniel Joseph Rayn, age 60, passed on August 26, 2026. Born March 17, 1966, Daniel was a resident of Bunker Hill, Indiana.

Amanda Lynn Skeans

Amanda Lynn Skeans, 41, of Andrews, Indiana, passed away at 5:30 a.m. on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at University Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. She was born on October 12, 1984, to Malissa Jane Timmons in Monticello, Indiana.

Amanda married Khrystopher J. Skeans on August 5, 2020. She enjoyed doing a multitude of crafts and watching true crime documentaries. Amanda loved spending time with her family and her beloved dog Athena.

Amanda is survived by her husband Khrystopher Skeans of Andrews, Indiana; two daughters Kylie Finton of Muncie, Indiana, and Kiara Finton of Andrews, Indiana; one son Gauge Finton of Huntington, Indiana; her mother Malissa Timmons of Picayune, Mississippi; stepdaughter Ryleigh-Ann Skeans of Columbia City, Indiana; two brothers Bradley Lawrence of LaFontaine, Indiana, and John Lawrence of Kokomo, Indiana; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father Scott Lawrence, who passed away on August 11, 2014.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at McDonald Funeral Home, Wabash Chapel, 231 Falls Ave., Wabash, Indiana 46992. Burial will follow at Mississinewa Memorial Cemetery in Wabash, Indiana.

Jessie Mae Bilberry

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ms. Jessie Mae Bilberry on August 21, 2026. Please continue to keep the family and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers during this time of bereavement.

Eric Glen Rody

Eric Glen Rody, 55, of Kokomo, passed away at 2:35 p.m., on August 19, 2026, surrounded by family at IU Hospital, Indianapolis, Indiana.

He was born February 5, 1971, the son of the late Ora Glen Rody, Jr., and Fannie Rody, who survives.

Eric attended Northwestern High School and Ball State University. He went on to work in the financial field and later worked for Marsh, General Motors, and Wabash International. He enjoyed coin and gun collecting, classic cars, marching bands, and working out. He really loved metal and experimental electronic music.

On March 2, 2007, he married Kristen Michelle Rody (Dawson) and spent 16 wonderful years with her until her passing on June 14, 2023.

Eric was an active member of the Connexion Church (formerly known as St. Luke’s United Methodist Church). Eric loved the outdoors, cooking, and spending time with family. He had a tremendous sense of humor, warm laughter, generous spirit, and deep love for his family, friends, and church. He was an amazing father and an even better man who changed the lives of those around him.

Eric is survived by his son Liam Rody and stepson Tyler Born; his mother Fannie Rody, who through her love, guidance, strength, and kindness, shaped Eric into the extraordinary person who everyone came to love and admire. He also leaves behind sisters Cindy (Tom) Hazelgrove and Denise (Greg) Seiter; brothers Scot Rody, Bret (Julie) Rody, and Brian Rody; uncle Sandy (Marilyn) Lowe; and many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

Eric was preceded in death by his wife of 16 years Kristen Rody (Dawson); his father Ora Glen Rody, Jr.; and his grandparents.

There will be a celebration of life to honor Eric on Saturday, September 5, 2026, from 3 p.m. until the time of the funeral service, 5 p.m., at Ellers Mortuary and Cremation Center, 3400 S. Webster St., Kokomo.

Tracy T. Talbert

Tracy T. Talbert, 62, of Fairmount, Indiana, passed away on August 27, 2026, in Fairmount. He was born on November 22, 1963, in Kokomo, Indiana.

Tracy was a union electrician with IBEW #873 in Kokomo, Indiana. He was a hardworking man who also found great enjoyment in the simple pleasures of life. He enjoyed playing golf and liked being outdoors, working in the yard. He loved being with family and friends, and his playful spirit showed in the fun he had throwing golf balls into the pool and then diving in after them. He also enjoyed riding his Harley.

At the heart of Tracy’s life were the people and companions he loved. He is survived by his sisters Terra Dickman and Tina Baldwin, and by his niece Ciera Brooks. He is also survived by his beloved puppy Sally, who went everywhere with him and was a constant source of companionship.

He was preceded in death by his wife Theresa Talbert; his father Rex Talbert; his mother Marilyn Talbert; his brother Tony Talbert; and his sister Tammy Closser. Their memories remained an important part of his life.

Cremation will take place through Raven Choate Robinson Funeral Home, 1202 West Kem Road, Marion, Indiana 46952.

Tracy will be remembered for his love of family and friends, his enjoyment of the outdoors, and the spirited way he lived his life.
