Kathy D. McBee

Kathy D. McBee, 72, of Kokomo, passed away on August, 30, 2026, at Aperion Care in Peru, IN. She was born on July 30, 1954, the daughter of Cloman O. and Margaret B. (Lytle) McBee.

Kathy was a 1974 graduate of Kokomo High School. She worked as an in-home nurse and at the cafeteria at General Motors. Kathy enjoyed listening to Country and Gospel music. She also liked cooking and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Kathy had a big heart for helping others and would support Riley Children’s Hospital and caring for children by providing stuffed animals. She supported her son’s motorcycle rides to support Riley Children’s Hospital as well.

She is survived by her son Nathan H. (Kelley) McBee; grandsons Nathaniel J. McBee and Noah E. McBee; and mother of her grandsons Melissa McBee.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers David McBee, Dale McBee, Delmar McBee, and Timothy McBee.

A funeral service celebrating Kathy’s life will be held at 12 p.m., Thursday, September 3, 2026, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo, with Pastor Billy Martin officiating. Sandra Sue Griffin

Sandra Sue Griffin, 85, of Lafayette, passed away at 1:00 a.m. on Monday, August 31, 2026, at Milner Nursing Home in Rossville, Indiana. Sandra was born on December 23, 1940, in Tipton, Indiana, the daughter of Arthur and Maxine Ogle.

As a young woman, Sandra worked at Western Union Telegraph Company in Chicago. She married Robert Griffin, and the couple moved to Lafayette, Indiana, in 1966. They divorced years later. Sandra then worked as the Office Manager at Pay Less Super Market on Elmwood Avenue in Lafayette, where she remained until her retirement. Sandra loved taking big vacations and traveling to places such as California, Hawaii, Washington state, and Florida.

Sandra and Robert had three children: Kelly Studebaker, Michael Griffin, and Kathie Foster. Kathie sadly passed away on February 26, 2021.

Sandra’s grandchildren are Jenny Garst, April Cook, Alex Studebaker, Maxwell Griffin, Josephine Griffin, Benjamin Griffin, Justin Robbins, and Heather McKinney. Sandra also had many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Arthur and Maxine Ogle and her daughter Kathie Foster.

Friends and family are invited to gather and visit beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at Stout & Son Funeral Home, 200 E. Main Street, Russiaville, Indiana. A funeral service celebrating Sandra’s life will follow at 11:00 a.m., burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery in Forest, Indiana.

Patricia Ann Boyd

On August 25, 2026, Jesus sent an angel to Muncie, Indiana, to come and take our beloved wife and mother Patricia Ann Boyd home to glory. Patricia was born on August 27, 1966, to William and Jeanette Dean in Marion, Indiana. She accepted Christ at an early age at Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Michigan City, Indiana, under the leadership of Pastor DT Taylor. She married Donald Boyd on July 13, 1991, in Marion, IN. To this union, two children were born.

In her early years, Patricia joined St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend CL Adams. She remained a member of the House of Worship for All People in Marion, IN, under the leadership of Reverend Perkins, Elder Nukes, and, until her death, Elder Damion Jackson.

Patricia was a devoted wife and mother who loved her entire family and was not afraid to show it. She graduated from Marion High School and went on to earn her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Indiana University. She worked in various nursing positions and loved being a travel nurse. She retired from the Marion VA hospital and went on to enjoy various hobbies, such as watching her son play high school tennis and hip-hop performances, as well as traveling to watch her daughter play college tennis. In her spare time, she also enjoyed decorating for events and hosting musical events with her husband.

She leaves to cherish her memories: husband Donald, a son Deray (Brianna) of Kokomo, IN; a daughter Jasmine of Slidell, LA; one sister Lisa of Indianapolis, IN; two brothers William Jr. of Anderson, IN, and Bruce Michael of Indianapolis, IN; other relatives, church family, and a host of friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents William and Jeanette Dean and two brothers Ronald and Bryant Dean.

Estelle A. Clark

Estelle A. Clark, 96, of Kokomo, passed away at 9:29 a.m. on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at her home. She was born May 15, 1930, in Richmond, North Carolina, to Alexander J. and Florence Camellia (Brown) Dunn. On September 2, 1950, she married Herbert Junior Clark, at the Fairlawn United Brethren Church in Kokomo, and he preceded her in death on June 5, 2019.

Estelle graduated from West End High School, in West End, North Carolina, in 1949 and later attended beauty college. She was proud to say that she was a worker all of her life, having worked in her teens on jobs such as sorting tobacco leaves, picking cotton, pairing socks, etc. She worked at Delco for several years, and after beauty college, worked as a beautician for many years with her sister Frances, eventually becoming owner of the Magic Touch Beauty Salon and retiring in 1994. Estelle enjoyed line dancing, playing cards, and was always a well-dressed and fashionable lady. She was a former member of Fairlawn United Brethren Church and Beamer United Methodist Church, and when Beamer closed, she became a member of Kokomo Zion Church.

Survivors include her sons Terry (Juanita) Clark and Tim (Julie) Clark; grandson Mike Clark; seven step-grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and siblings James Curtis Dunn, Clyde Rufus Dunn, Edward A. Dunn, Mary Frances Miller, Monnie M. Conrad, and Pearl Dunn.

Harbans Singh Sr.

Harbans Singh Sr., 69, Kokomo, passed away at 5:02 a.m. on Sunday August 30, 2026, at Community Howard Regional Health. He was born in Gobindpur, India, on April 6, 1957, the son of the late Didar and Ratan (Kaur) Singh. He married Kulwinder Kaur, and she survives.

Harbans enjoyed gardening, cooking, and listening to the radio.

Along with his wife Kulwinder, Harbans is survived by his children Baljinder Kaur (Sukwinder) Singh, Avtar Nijjar (Karamdeep), and Hardip Basraon (Darshan); grandchildren Lovedeep Kaur, Tejasvi Basraon, Hardarsh Basraon, Gurnoor Nijjar, Manroop Nijjar, Ikjot Nijjar, Amreet Basraon, and Jiwan Sohal.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Ronnie Drue Sedberry

Ronnie Drue Sedberry, 86, of Phoenix, Arizona, went home to Heaven unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at 9:18 p.m. at Banner Hospital in Glendale, Arizona. He was born June 17, 1940, in Abilene, Texas, to the late Alton Elois Sedberry and Dorothy Bell (Hutchins) Sedberry. Following his mother’s death, he and his siblings were raised in the Hendricks Home for Children in Abilene, Texas. He was a 1958 graduate of Abilene High School. He was married to the love of his life Sondra Ann Sedberry on June 17, 1967, in Kokomo, and she preceded him in death on November 26, 2021.

Ronnie Sedberry retired from Daimler Chrysler in 2007 after many years of service and was a proud member of UAW Local 685. He was also self-employed as a roofer for many years. Ronnie & Sondra were Realtors in Tucson following their move to Arizona.

A devout Christian, Ronnie Sedberry enjoyed a life filled with faith, family, music, and simple pleasures. He loved reading his Bible and learning in his faith, playing BINGO, being outdoors, singing karaoke, and cheering for the Dallas Cowboys. He was especially fond of Elvis Presley and collected Elvis memorabilia; his collection and Elvis room were even featured in the news.

Ronnie Sedberry is survived by his daughters Julie (Joe) Ishmael and Melissa (Richard) Doucette; grandchildren Dustin, Hydie (Jerrico), Brittney, Cody, Cory (LeeAnn), Taylor, Shawn (Madison), Michelene, Selina, Jimi (Kourtney), Brandi, Kathryn, Michael, Jacob, Alton, Jayden, Kelli, Becky, and Michelle; many beloved great-grandchildren; and his sister Connie Weddle.

Ronnie Sedberry was preceded into Heaven by his parents; his wife of 54 years Sondra Ann Sedberry; children Vicki, Paige, Sonja and Shane; grandson Tyler; and brothers Larry Sedberry and Donnie Sedberry.

Ronnie Sedberry will be remembered for his love of family, his joyful spirit, his appreciation for music, and the many memories he created with those who knew and loved him.

Virgil “Mark” Goebel

Virgil “Mark” Goebel, 78, of St. Anthony, passed away peacefully at his home on August 31, 2026. Mark was born December 12, 1947, in Paris, IL, to Virgil and Virginia (Ware) Goebel. Mark is survived by his son Dorian Goebel of Petersburg IN, and daughter Marni (Justin) Vonderheide, along with his grandchildren who he adored Anstin and Amrin Vondehreide St.Anthony, his former wife Joan (Gariepy) Goebel of Petersburg IN, sister Diane Klueh of Kokomo, brother Danny Goebel of Vincennes IN, and nieces and nephews.

Mark worked in Information Technology and was a self-proclaimed “computer geek.” Mark was a Vietnam veteran who served in the Navy aboard the U.S.S. St. Paul. He loved motocross and grilling. Mark was a talented cook and loved entering BBQ contests. He loved music and was very talented. He wrote music and played many instruments, especially guitar, until his passing. Mark was also a member of the St. Anthony V.F.W.

Mark is preceded in death by his parents and sister Camilla Fleck of Vincennes, IN. There will be a Celebration of Life and a later date; no services have been announced. Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand has been entrusted with final arrangements.

Rafael Johnson

Rafael Johnson, 43 years old, of Michigantown, IN, passed away Friday, August 28, 2026. He was born on October 11, 1982, in Toledo, OH, the son of Dorothy Meyer. On August 24, 2008, he married Courtney Ann McClaran in Nashville, IN, and she survives.

Rafael was employed at Stellantis in Kokomo where he worked on the production line. He had the best jokes to pair with his goofy personality. Rafael always found ways to serve and love people before himself. He had a strong faith in Jesus after being saved and baptized. He liked reading the Bible, listening to worship music, and attending church. He found joy in bringing people to a personal relationship with the Lord. He liked any activities that helped him enjoy the outdoors, especially hiking, golfing, and swimming with his kids. His favorite vacations were spent in Panama City Beach, FL. Rafael was fascinated by drawing pictures, playing video games, and spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife Courtney, Rafael is survived by his children Natalie Johnson, Nathaniel Johnson, and Naylee Johnson; mom Dorothy Meyer; father and mother-in-law Joe and Tami McClaran; sister and brother-in-law Kristin and Weston Wagoner; grandmother Shirley Smith; nephew and niece Emily and Collin Wheeler; brother Gordo; siblings Melody (Steve) Harris, Becky (Tim) Herrera, Crystal (Matt) Stout, Monica (Nick) Martin, and Katie Garza; nephews Julian, Alex, Michael, Devon, Collin, and Grant; and nieces Jillian, Kadance, and Abbie.

He was preceded in death by his grandpa Gary Smith.

Rita M. Overdorf

Rita May McTaggart Overdorf was born January 5, 1938, to Charles J. and Rose E. Jenkins McTaggart in Tipton, Indiana. Rita joined the burgeoning family, including her eldest sister Sharlene, later welcoming the youngest, Ilene.

Rita attended and graduated from Tipton County High School. At the young age of 17, a young Richard Lee Overdorf spotted her in a bowling alley. After finally finding her walking through town, he recognized her to be “the one,” and their epic romance began, enjoying nuptials on December 18, 1955. Their love and adventures lasted until his passing on October 17, 2024, culminating in 68 years of marriage. They celebrated the birth of the sons Bret A. and Scot W. Overdorf, enjoying weekend antiquing trips to supply the family business Buena Vista Antiques, run by Richard’s father Eugene in Atlanta, Indiana. The four also traveled the globe, exploring European lands and multiple cruises.

Rita worked as the office manager for Dr. Ferguson in Anderson, Indiana. She retained her medical knowledge and would correct you on the proper pronunciation of any medicine. Once Richard opened his own insurance agency, Rita was the office manager and continued until her retirement. She always focused on organization and efficiency and ran a tight ship. People would marvel at her typing ability. Her typewriter of choice was the IBM Selectric and on more than one occasion, her sons swear smoke was coming from the keys. She was often asked to perform her “typing magic” after hours for school papers for her sons. She never complained.

Rita was a Christ follower and attended Madison Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, in Frankton, Indiana. She was actively involved in the church. She was kind and compassionate and had a servant’s heart. She also extended her ministries and gifts to Beauty for Ashes Transitional Home in Alexandria, Indiana, providing Christ-centered housing and support programs for women and their children to overcome homelessness.

Rita was a collector of many things. She enjoyed the pursuit of Heisey glassware from Newark, Ohio, as well as collecting vintage items such as Evening in Paris perfume bottles, eyecups and Flow Blue China. The more modern collections included Department 56 Snow Babies and Longaberger baskets. Rita was a gifted crafter and made baskets for the annual auction to benefit her church. She hand-wrapped all gifts and made bows to match that were works of art. She loved shopping for the grandchildren, ensuring that each child had numerous gifts for Christmas, all uniquely decorated, and equally distributed. This skill was ironic as she often said she only repaired items that could be glued, stapled, or pinned.

Rita and Richard were fishing enthusiasts, which would serve them well in their 50-year love of fishing in a little-known body of water in Mine Centre, Ontario, Canada, named Turtle Lake. They would make annual excursions in May and September, having missed only once in more than 50 years. Nobody would out-fish Rita. She would sit quietly on the back seat of the boat, her legs extended on top of the motor, and work her magic. She had “people” (mainly Richard) to bait her hook and take off her fish. All obliged if they wanted to eat fish for dinner. She fished for walleye, nothing else. Unfortunately, she was a fish magnet, often hooking small mouth bass, northern pike, and sturgeon. If she hooked one of these “scrub fish” she would hand the pole to someone else in the boat. For more than 20 years they would go to Little Turtle Resort, where they would often catch enough walleye to feed the whole camp. Later, when the lodge closed, they bought a lake home with boat access only. At first, the lake home only had an outhouse and no other amenities. Soon, with Rita’s insistence, the cabin had a full bathroom, washer and dryer, generator shed, and many other comforts. Richard and Rita brought their children, grandchildren, and friends to “the lake.” It was her favorite place.

If there was one word to describe Rita it would be “generous.” She was generous to all. Coming from a modest upbringing, she was always willing to improve the life of others. Rita’s currency of choice was $100 bills, which she called “hunnies.” If you went to visit Rita, odds are you would leave with a hunnie. Rita was initially shy when meeting people. However, she had a deep love and concern for everyone, which people discovered upon getting to know her on an individual level. Upon her passing, many people from Meadow Brook Senior Living recalled to the family of her quiet, sweet manner and making their day better by providing a brief moment of respite in her apartment … served with a side of candy.

She loved shopping … long shopping for hours. Often, she would drag Richard along as they frequented the Potpourri Store in Zionsville (until it closed, much to her dismay) and Hofmeister’s Jewelry. Many times, Richard would sit in the car, reading his Kindle, knowing she would return on “her time.” They later frequented Saks Fifth Avenue, where she knew everyone in the high-end skin care department, which might have assisted in maintaining her beautiful complexion into her senior years. After a hard day of shopping, they would frequent their favorite restaurant, Sullivan’s, where they were known on a first-name basis and were always seated immediately, no matter how crowded the restaurant (the hunnies came in handy!)

Rita May McTaggart Overdorf passed peacefully on Saturday, August 22, 2026, surrounded by family. She is survived by her sons Bret A. (Kelli) and Scot (Tanya) Overdorf, grandchildren Jordan (Merry), Victoria (Jordan), Allison (Joshua), and Rachael (Jon); great-grandchildren Lucas, Quinn, Elijah, Theodore (Teddy), Lee, Scarlett (Scottie), Ruthie, Isaiah, Wade Montgomery (Kic), and Lilly Mae; sister Sharlene; and numerous nieces and nephews. Her elderly years were blessed by the care of Kim Langdon, Season Lewis, and George Broomfield, who treated her with much love and compassion.
