Santanea Katie Rose Dorsey

Santanea Katie Rose Dorsey, 12, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born on June 12, 2014, the daughter of Santana S. Dorsey and April M. Smith.

She was a student at Taylor Middle School. Santanea enjoyed watching anime and playing video games. She was a cheerleader who liked to watch Tiktok and listen to music. Santanea was considered to be a foodie and loved collecting porcelain dolls and anime books.

Along with her parents, Santanea is survived by her sister Zasyra Dorsey; grandparents Felicia Smith, Patricia Dorsey, and Zachary Clark; many aunts uncles Telisha, Armanda, Varea, Qweeta, Isidro “Gilly”, Shuntel, Jovon, Bruce, Jamarcus, Mesha, Mya, Keyana, and Cortez; and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her brother Chucke Dorsey; uncles Devin Smith and Andres Clark; grandfather Isidro Pagan; great-grandmothers Katie Mae Dorsey and Juliana Smith; great-grandfather Willie Smith; and cousin Terika Moore.

A funeral service celebrating Santanea’s life will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, September 18, 2026, at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, Kokomo. Burial will follow in Albright Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 12 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Shirley & Stout Funeral Home to help with final expenses.

Michael James Brennan

Michael James Brennan, 73, of South Whitley, passed away at 9:51 p.m. Monday, September 14, 2026, at his residence.

Michael was born on June 4, 1953, in Kokomo, IN, the son of Thomas Brennan and Shirley (Hanrahan) Brennan. He graduated from Haworth High School with the Class of 1971. Michael was a graduate of Purdue University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Industrial Management and Supervision and his associate’s degree in Aviation Technology.

He worked as the territory sales manager for Bohler Welding USA from 2007 to 2016, where he was a global leader in advanced technology application welding consumables, serving as a technical advisor and trusted vendor to client companies throughout Illinois, Michigan, Kentucky, Ohio, and Indiana. From 1984 to 2006, he worked as a key account manager and technical sales consultant for Eutectic & Castolin Corporation, where he was responsible for developing new accounts and maintaining and servicing existing accounts in Indiana. Mike’s most favored job in his life was his retirement work. He drove for the transportation service (HAT) in the Huntington area, beginning at 4 a.m., driving the elderly and mentally disabled to their appointments for seven years, listening to their stories and anonymously helping in ways he could. He had a heart that gave, not one that took. He was a giver.

Michael was a member of the American Welding Society, was a Purdue Grand Prix alumni board vice-president, also former winner of the race, and was a marketing board member of the YMCA of Ft. Wayne. He was a licensed private pilot and a FFA-licensed airframe and power plant technician. Michael was the U.S. Masters Swimming Indiana state champion and the United States WKA National Karting champion. He was a member of the Ft. Wayne Museum of Art, was chairman of the “Trolley Tour” annual event and fundraiser, and a committee member of the Junior Achievement Grand Prix.

Survivors include his four sisters Jane (Stephen) Brennan Baker of Mishawaka, IN, Mary G. Brennan of Bloomington, IN, Julie (Mike) McCool of Rochester, IN, and Sara Brennan Leonard of Holland, Michigan; seven nieces and nephews; and 13 great-nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother Shirley Brennan, father Thomas Joseph Brennan, and brother Tom Brennan.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Huntington once the cremated remains are returned. Service details will be updated as soon as they are finalized.

Kevin Carlton Brown

Kevin Carlton Brown, of Crossville, Tennessee, passed away at 12:14 p.m. on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at Cumberland Medical Center. He was 63 years old. The son of Brice C. Brown and the late Shirley (King) Brown, Kevin was born on September 25, 1962, in Danville, Illinois.

As a child, Kevin was active in swimming, football, and baseball and was known as the “Home Run King” on the baseball field. He continued playing football and baseball at Danville High School. Shortly before his senior year, his family moved to Kokomo, Indiana. Kevin graduated from Northwestern High School in 1980 and enlisted in the United States Air Force shortly thereafter.

While serving in the Air Force, Kevin met Roberta Quinn at March Air Force Base in Riverside, California. They married on February 10, 1983, beginning a life together that would span more than 43 years.

Following their honorable discharges from the Air Force, Kevin and Roberta eventually made their home in San Diego, California, where they lived until 2017. In more recent years, they spent time living in Indiana and Florida before settling in Crossville, Tennessee, where they shared a beautiful home with Roberta’s sister Pattie Quinn Bennett.

Kevin had a special interest in anything with a small engine and enjoyed figuring out ways to make his computer faster without having to buy a new one. He loved going to estate sales, where he often found older audio equipment to add to his collection at home.

Kevin and Roberta spent many years remodeling and personalizing each home they shared, making each one distinctly their own. In Crossville, Kevin especially enjoyed riding the lawn mower around the property and working outdoors. He completed many projects around their home, with a few still underway when he passed.

Kevin is survived by his wife Roberta; father Brice C. Brown; brother Alan Brown; sister Kathryn Brown; sisters-in-law Pattie Quinn Bennett and Barbara Sulick of West Virginia; nieces Raleigh Brown and Savannah Kate Brown; uncle and aunt Dean and Helen Brown; aunt Margaret Brown; and many cousins and their families.

Kevin was preceded in death by his mother Shirley (King) Brown; his father-in-law and mother-in-law James and Shirley Quinn; his brother-in-law Bruce Quinn; and several beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Kevin’s family will gather privately to celebrate his life and the memories they shared with him. Cremation and Funeral Services of Tennessee has been entrusted with cremation.
