James B. Bagley III

James B. Bagley III, of Kokomo, passed away at Parkview Wabash Hospital at 12:55 pm on Monday, November 20, 2023. He was born February 14, 1943, in Kokomo, to James B Bagley Jr. and Rosalie (Ronk) Bagley. He married Deborah K. (McCoy) Lewis, and she preceded him in death on July 9, 2019.

James graduated from Kokomo High School and then attended Ball State University. He was the owner and operator of Bagley Construction, having worked with his father for years prior to continuing the business after his father’s retirement. In his leisure time, he enjoyed fishing, boating, hunting, golfing and traveling. James retired to Lake City, Florida, where he and Deborah enjoyed many years together. He moved back to Kokomo following Deborah’s death to be closer to family.

He is survived by his daughter, Heather (Mike) Lay; brother, Bob (Sherry) Bagley; grandchildren, Connor Lay, Katherine Lay, and Nathan Lay; mother-in-law, Phyllis Hockett; and nieces and a nephew.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Deborah Bagley and son, Jamie Bagley.
